  1. I like the flag fish. I have never seen a picture of them before, so thanks for sharing!
  2. Old thread I know, but does anyone have contact details for inside oceans? The website is not working for me and nor is their email address. Thanks
  3. I have also had issues with these. I can put all 5 of my in the same place of a tank and they will range from 22-31. I agree the glass ones seem the most reliable, but they break from time to time.
  4. Update: 50% WC + Epsom salt every day so far and changed filter wool today, got the Metro today started doesing via food this afternoon. All fish seem fine no gasping, standard behaviour and the such. Death count: 3 Side note: The chemist took the piss out of me getting drugs for my fish, she said " do not give them alcohol after taking the medication or it may kill them" haha.

    adding leleupi

I got some from her 18 months ago, they are fantastic. I found them too be pretty aggressive feeders, not as fast as the T's but pretty quick still. If my Fronts have not munched my smaller fish I think you should be okay.
  6. Yes I have been adding apsom salt.
  7. I very much appreciate what you had said, but I was getting frustrated at the comments about doing things that I can not do anything with. I am trying to stop this before it gets any further with the resources that I have at hand. I wasn't after a preventative I was after a cure for the current situation. Believe it or not there is a few people on here that I take words as gossiple you and Rcons are in that group (amungst a few others). I don't doubt the advice you are giving but in the circumstances I can't do any better than what I am doing. Quite possible that this is the issue, again I have been trying to keep things in a fine balance it seems this time it is out. I am ;ucky that all of the fish in the tank will eat NLS, so once I get the meds I will be feeding out with NLS. I have now done another 50% WC ( 3 in 3 days) and am waiting for the VET to ring me back. No further fish seem to be affected at this stage. I didn't need to talk, I only needed to listen. I thank you for your advice as I do for everyone else's.
  8. I don't have a big enough tank to treat all tropheus in a tank to them selves. I can treat individually with the tanks I have for emergencys but not for groups. So I will be treating in the main tank. I was planning on making a paste and soaking the food in it and feeding it out too the tank for a few days.
  9. Have you not actually read anything that I have written? A. I am going to the VET tomorrow for medication to try and treat the Bloat B. I can NOT remove the wood from the tank due to some of the plecs. C. I AM planning on rehoming things when I can, but currently I can not. I very much appreicate your advice and your opinion on this, but sometimes I wonder. 10 Fronts, 17 tropheus, 7 leleupi, 7 juli's, 4 altos, 15 cuckoos and about 20 different plecs. So I still feel that I need to have a decent amount of rock work, cave work and wood work in the the tank the time being, until I can get my other tank free.
  10. I am planning on dealing with this correctly, but there is nothing I can do at 10.30 pm. As for the tank set up, I previously mentioned that I was going to rehome fish dependent on what they eat. Sadly I can not do this until my mate gets his fish out of my tank. So far a "couple of months" has been close to a year.
  11. There is coral in the sump to counter and balance, town supply last time I checked PH it was in the high 7's. I can't remove the wood with the pecs in there. There is very little aggression within the tank, some but not much. I feel I can not minimise it as when I did it went the other way and there was more aggression. Also with the amount of fish in there I think it needs all the extra rock and wood work.
  12. About 8 foot, 17 moliro, sump with 10,000LPH pump, 25-27, heaps of different territories for all of the fish, PH unsure. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=62583&hilit=tang+and+pleco Have added more rock, slate and wood since last photos. Havn't really noticed any poo, its pretty hard to work out what is what with the plec poo as well.
  13. Was gunna go to my local Vet with my fingers crossed and my puppy dog eyes
  14. Keep the water clean and trteat with Metronidazole.
  15. Ohhh yeah, I could probably do that. Is malamine the stuff they make kitchens from?
  16. I can't do anything now as nothing is open and I do not have any meds to treat it, otherwise I would. The best I can do at this point is a water change and adding of some epsom salt both of which I have done. Unless you have any ideas that I can do now? I am open to suggestions
  17. I have just been talking to Greg (likoma) who also mentioned stress, I have recently (within 2 weeks) rearranged my tank so stress from that is possible. We have discussed a stratagy for attack and will be trying to action it in the morning.
  18. Food is NLS, for the cichlids and novo plec and a mix of novo tab, massivore and samon food ( used sparingly because of the T and Panaques). A decision has been made too start seperating fish by food requirments in the near future. Temp is at 24.5 taking into account it just went through a 50% WC
  19. I lost a T a couple days ago, didn't think much of it as it had been beaten a bit and just thought bugger, these things happen. Today I noticed two more hiding up the top corner gasping for air. I have just decided to take the worse one out as it had the kick stand out. I did a 50% WC yeaterday and am doing another one now. Water levels are where it needs to be. Does this sound like bloat or something else? All other fish seem 100% fine.

    Hi Everyone

100% agree with you, but there is also a lot of people that work at them that do know HEAPS and are more than happy too help as well.

    Hi Everyone

Hi there I think you may of been one of the lucky ones who worked out very quickly, not to listen to everything a pet shop tells you. I hope you enjoy the site and the forum!
  22. Have you got any pictures of it? I am visioning a plywood type fish tank, would that be a correct thought and process? I am pretty poor at DIY to be completely honest, but am always willing to give it a go.
  23. Have you had reptiles for a while Morcs? This is a first time thing for me.
