  1. I had a 5 foot aquarium but opted out of it because of the top part from advice from another reptile owner. Would 2 blueys be pushing a 4 footer?
  2. Thanks for your input. The problem I see is that there isnt many if any tank builders down this way that would/could do that, so I would have to get it frieghted from somewhere. Also I am kinda slowly convincing the bird too let me have this and a store bought set up is more along her taste  . However in saying that functionality is also important to me and her so if a custom one would house them better than it may also be a goer.
  3. Depending on your stocking the 2200 should be fine. I had a 2400 running on a 450L 1200 long tank stocked with lots of Africans without any issues.
  4. I have taken some advice and have decided that selling this fish tank and replacing it with a purpose designed reptile enclosure with opening front doors is a smart thing to do. So I have been looking at the Reptile one RTT 1200, RTT 900 and reptevo 900. Has anyone had these enclosures before? Reviews and thoughts? I think I have narrowed the animal down to a Blue tongue or a beardie. I would love two or what ever one I go with, but don't think any of these are big enough for two, is that correct? I am still working on the mealworm reproduction as well.
  5. Haha I can't disagree with your statement
  6. If I had a horse I would be riding it rite now! :dnc1:
  7. What are you wanting to keep?
  8. Is it illegal to flush dead fish? I got asked to at work the other day but said no and put it in the bid. It then started an argument around it. So is it? :dno:
  9. None that I am aware of. Tank has been running with plants for three mnths so still very young. The day that I get the new bulbs I will start a blackout, and then reduce lights to around 6 hours a day (?) Where do I find erythromycin? Can I do that at the same time as the black out? Do I turn the C02 off for blackout? Stop dosing ferts during black out? Thanks
  10. I am currently taking on some suspected staghorn algae and cyano. I have added a heap of water movers, changed my ferts, doing bigger WC and have added more C02. I am replacing the old MH bulbs in the next two weeks so will end up changing the light times as well. It is basicly getting the front section of the tank and no other place that I can see. Now for my question. I think the wood on the right hand side is blocking a lot of flow but I like the placement of it and the look it gives. But if I remove it I can add more plants (From my understanding helps fight algae). So what do I do? persaver, find the correct spots for the water movers and keep fighting or remove the wood and add more plants? The top picture is tank as it is now the second is without the wood in it. Thoughts please.
  11. Yeh I went with them. Troph's are going well, getting bigger like they are ment to be. I wouldnt say they are using more of the tank but the males are fighting more in a higher region. The cuckoos like too hang around up in the middle to high region now. I am going to have a head count and rescape sometime soon, I am gunna push some of the bigger wood and rocks against the back wall going higher, making the "caves" towards the front of the tank not the back and having some structure in the mid region.
  12. I forked out for some LED lights I claimed o the mrs it was " to save money on power" :gigl: Best few hundy I have spent. There is plecos coming out I have never seen out and about unless eating, just cruising about going from log to log and the fronts have got some stunning banding compared to before.
  13. I am enjoying playing spot the heineken while I look at your pics.
  14. How long has this been going on for? I hardly ever see mine move. They sit rite in the back corner most of the time then occasionally pop there head out. Sometimes when there is food I only see one or two other times the entire mob comes out. I havn't had CL for long and just put it down to normal behaviour. I just made sure I feed at night, 3 months on now sunken bellies and nothing floating.
  15. I think you will find that the new fish options will all get to big for your 4 foot tank. Have you tried adding more rock work to the tank?
  16. Looks good, but I think you maybe in for some aggression/territory issues in a tank that size. The C. Moorii will probably get too big for the tank in time.
  17. Can I have an ID on this please, it is very easy to remove by just rubbing it off with my fingers. And once it is ID'd can I please have some tips to permanently remove it please. Thanks all. These are the two most affected plants, other than these two there is very little of it about, but still enough to frustrate me.
