  1. well i finally started dosing zeovit tonight, following my sps colouration (or lack of) thread. im dosing on brendans recommendations of: quite typical i run out of activated carbon just as i start tonight. will buy a bag tomorrow. i assume it's no problem not having activated carbon for 24 hours while zeovit's running. i have a heap of 'before' photo's which i'll post soon. hopefully should be able to take pic's weekly and keep a progressive update to see how well the colouration comes out predominantely in my sps.

great to put a face to the name too pies. cookie, your tank did look wicked, nice to be able to see a completely different layout in a tank rather than the rock wall look (ie: mine ) nicks tank looked great too, clean the glass next time looking forward to coming to wellies at some stage soon and seeing your masterpiece!
  3. ok, to be fussy yeah, all family name's are '...dae'.
  4. anemonia is a majano - or in fact anemonia is the family name. in other words its an "anemonia majano". yes, klaymann, they are deemed similar to aipstasia, breed quickly. nicer looking though cheers all.
  5. errr, make that about 10 months ago. god damn, it's the little green seawater people harvesting them in my tank!!!
  6. that's what i first thought, but i haven't had a majano since i nuked them about 6 months ago
  7. any idea what this is? it appeared about a week ago and was gone by morning. i haven't seen it appear in the same place (or anywhere else for that matter) since?
  8. i would say it's most likely it would. why don't you buy a bottle instead?
  9. proof is in the pudding i suppose. back on topic, i start on zeovit's hopefully tomorrow (assuming brendan couriered the stuff off this arvo) i've taken heaps of "before" photos and have test kit readings on water chemistry as at now. will post these later on then take similar photo's every week or two.
  10. sounds like the weatherboard on my house... sorry, was having a momentary lapse of reason. i think i'll call my next fish floyd.
  11. i knew bourneman misspelt the title, "Size and shape of gonads in aquarium corals"
  12. probably why this book is called "aquarium corals", not "aquarium corals, equipment and other stuff"
  13. that will be my next and last fish purchase,.... unless another dies
  14. im sure if i was seeking advice from you or bourneman, i know who i would be going to reef,... at least "basic" keeps it simple - what more do you need to know than that polyps have gonads?
  15. i would have to say this book is awesome, i have learnt more reading the book for 2 hours last night than reading online web sites in a year. i never knew corals (or specifically polyps) had balls... :-?
  16. i saw lots and lots of the little saltwater people at that time... including the slightly larger mushroom eating green ones with 6 fingers and 3 feet... man they could carry a heap of corals at one time.
  17. about butterfly's eating aipstasia. you would be considered lucky to get one that does. i know cookies one does, but most don't (from the numerous FAQ's I have read on them. interestingly, sites that sell them say they do, consumer reports and feedback from reefers on forums say they mostly dont). they are 'hardish' to keep. that will be my next and last fish purchase. although i will wait at least 6 months to ensure the regal is 'at home' first what LxWxH dimensions? was it 4 foot, i couldn't see back on the thread what size you ended up going for
  18. i hope that was a joke. what size is your tank again?
  19. it's the little saltwater people, a genetically mutated race of humans who are half an inch tall and live in peoples reef tanks. i've seen them...
  20. cool man, arrived tonight some nice caleurpa there! thanks!
