  1. I share the same concern as runas, wouldn't the geothermal heat warm the barrels up above where you need it?
  2. 2215s are a great filter for a tank upto 400ltrs, I use a 2213 for mechanical filtration and it's great, silent as.
  3. He is such a beautiful fish Henward, good job!
  4. I'm just trying to clarify what it is you are saying Adrienne, poor datto is just trying to get some advice and from the way you phrased your comment it seems like that's what you were implying.
  5. Don't worry about it datto, it will be fine in your tank. Also since when has minimum size required meant you can't have any other fish aswell? It doesn't mean that minimum size is for every single fish you keep you have to keep adding that many litres. What your saying Adrienne is if I kept say an arowana that needs a minimum tank of 200g then I want to add another I have to go up another 200g.
  6. Sure..... I bet you have a really long detailed track with amazing scenery, I know I would if I could paint them that good. Do you do this as a job or just a hobby dude? Also do you only paint trains or other models aswell?
  7. My Germans a bit rusty but I don't see any chlorine, best to ring the water supply company and ask them if they do treat it with either. I am not sure if chloride is toxic to fish or plants.
  8. I don't think you are supposed to use water conditioners with shrimp dude. Maybe just age your water or find out if you even need to use it, your water may not be treated with chlorine or chloramine.
  9. Got mine today aswell, good read but a shame that it is the last printed one and last one with Caryl as the editor.
  10. Cheers dude, I know lol I am probably going to buy the big tank that Cliff has in his garage, it's huge. I'm going to see him tonight to pick up some more stuff and a bunch of glass to make a sump. I also will be adding a massive uruguaynsis sword 60cm+ and 20-30 large c. balansae this week if the guy who I bought them off can get to the courier so that will all be for the background and should look great hopefully.
  11. I would personally use a roller for that very reason.
  12. Running about 4bps which keeps my co2 around 28ppm. I have finally finished modifying the hood/lid so that the new lights can sit above the tank at the height they are meant to. I am really pleased with how well it came out and even better it only cost me $16 for the wood and a can of spray paint. With the new lights I have noticed a lot of new growth and healthier looking plants which is what I really wanted, kind of kicking myself for not going metal halide when I first set it up considering I have gone from pl to t8 to T5HO and now mh in the space of a few months lol but oh well you live and you learn. Here's some new pics from today, dwarf sag is going nuts. Also I have managed to finally hide the waterline which I have to say looks much better in my opinion.
  13. Chilly bin is a great idea. I wouldn't worry about taking extra water for water changes, it's only a 7 1/2 hrs trip. I would just not feed him for 2 days before the trip. Also of you keep the temp up in the car around 24c I wouldn't bother with heatpads either dude.
  14. Nice, I really like the look of gts.
  15. Hello and welcome to the forum! 1st thing you need to know is all of your tanks are grossly overstocked with fish that are not suitable for the size of them. 1st 2 tanks you need to remove the bristlenoses and flying foxes and the chinese algae eater, the latter 2 should be kept in tanks 200ltr+. The geos really need a much much much larger tank than 100ltrs and if you continue to keep them in there you will be stunting their growth and causing them significant harm. Sorry if this sounds bad to you but you should have really done a bit of research on the type of fish you have purchased before you got them.
  16. If it was closer I would love to attend but oh well, sorry guys. Maybe next year....
  17. Bugger dude, that sucks! Did you use water conditioners for the water changes? I heard that shrimps etc. don't like it and hardly survive if you do?
  18. That can't be right, I got quoted half that price for a similar size tank locally and even they admitted it would be cheaper to get one made out of town and shipped. Surely you would have got more than one quote? If not then sorry to say you must be a smidgen gullible and extremely silly.
  19. I have some I could sell you camtang, it's great stuff at only $79.99 per 100mls and if you call within the next 15 minutes you will get 2 bottles for the price of one! +$19.99 p&p. NO REFUNDS. ALL MAJOR CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED.
