  1. I am wondering if anyone know how good is TLC as compared to Prime or API.
  2. AquaLife

    Wrigglers!

Congratulation. Time to plan ahead when fry start to feed off the body of their parrents, tanks to seperate parents from fry and brine shrimp hatchery set (2x), be it DIY or off the shelf. Good luck.
  3. I'm surprised. I know some brand is under power. Didn't know of any fluval that can't keep up. Are you able to get a swapped just to sure that the one you have isn't up to par or faulty?
  4. lol, how funny, we are sent to the quarantine room, aye, and all utensils need to be sterilised as well, just as our hobby, ha ha. My self treatment is lots of liquid, rest and the miracle drug call Panadol, in the quarantine room of course, lol.
  5. Take it easy on raising the temperature. Heaters other than heating are also meant to keep the water temp from fluctuation. Small fishes are more sensitive to fluctuation of any kind. An airstone just below the heater help to disperse the heat thru out more evenly.
  6. Tell me about it. I spend tens of thousand on remote controll toys, lol. I've managed to hang them all up at the moment. My mate who actually keep track, spend almost 40k in the first year alone, all on remote control heli, ha ha. It's just the mid-year crisis, that's what we always joke about our addiction, lol.
  7. Geeeze, Ryunkin is consider a rare stock so is ranchu. I hope my netting will stop them from trying. I don't hate cats, l actually love them, lol. I've been thinking of trapping them so I can give them a loud hissssss in their face which would actually work to prevent them from comming back.
  8. Totally blown away, Simply superb. Is it true that native tank need to be below 16/18 deg cel?
  9. If it's just a breeing tank for discus (around, 1.5'x1.5'x1.5') and bare, sponge filter is adequate. All discus breeders in Asia use only sponge. Beside turning on and off the canister is not advisable, as bacteria needs oxygen. A ph of 6.5 would be ideal but that is just a preferance .
  10. Discus, the king of the aquarium, lol.
  11. I'd just do the KISS way to sort it out. 50% fresh warm water changes daily till the ammonia dissapear.
  12. Oh btw, I've one glider on TM but that's not suitable for beginer, ha ha ..... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=397182142
  13. Yes that's a good one to start, high wing trainer. Get a min 6 channel radio, spektrum DX7 is relative cheap but stay away from dx6. http://www.parkflyers.org.nz is a good site to start. They will be pleased to buddybox you on one of their plane. There is another one at NS that will buddybox you onto a heli if you're keen to give it a go. I used to be a frequent flyer, lol. I wouldn't recomend that you fly on public park by yourself. If possible hook up someone (tips ..... rob/Jacko) from parkflyer, they will more than willing to help you out on your maiden best will be to maiden on a buddy box. Good luck
  14. Be sure to cover them with nettings. I lost my breeding Orandas and ryukins to cats just 3 weeks ago, 16 of them. Fortunately 2 black Orandas (M&F) and 1 Ryukin left. All the others, the smaler ones, on a different pond are left untouched. They sure know what to pick, seem like size does matter to them lol.
  15. Very impressed. Where do you get the beef heart? Butcher or supermarket and are they cleaned?
  16. Thanks Stella, I'll get it sorted out pretty soon .
  17. Goldfish Bowl? Wow, that is one more to be seen then . Pity they closed on Monday, it would be one that I'd more likely buy and not just visit. Yeah, I'd love to make a trip over to both places if all goes as plan tomorrow. I heard they have an excellent marine setup. Still depending on doctors order with my son's knee injury, apointment tomorrow morning. I can only hope for the best . Oh, by the way, thank you all.
  18. HI all, I've been told there is a very nice and very good LFS at Rotorua or maybe Hamilton. Anyone know which is it (Rotorua or Hamilton) and may I have their address, please? Are they open on Monday? lol, Apologies it all question. . I may want to make a trip over to check them out
  19. Hi all, not meant to hijack your post but I taught it'd be wise just to post it here so we can share the info. . I've recently open a tropical and cold water fish shop (fish only) at Onehunga, call Aqua Village. Some may have already know it but this is me, AquaLife from Aqua Village. I'm also looking for local breeders. It's been running for 3 months now. Presently stocking from importer with some local supplier that I found thru friends. I hope I'm not breaking the rules for breaking the news here. So please advice if I have to post under commercial or can I just continue as it is.
  20. nice, are you not into beta anymore?
  21. Got a maltese and a bichon. Maltese is slightly more yeppy but my bichon almost never bark at anyone. They do chase after cats and birds thou which is a good thing, keeping my fishes in my pond safe,
  22. Wow, congratulation. . Now that I'm excited, I've few question. When is the planed first shipment? Marine or fresh water? Do you plan to take private orders/request or just to sell to fish shops?
  23. I end up buying a complete 800L set up full of Malawis, lol. That tank is in storage, may be looking at selling with a new Fx5 . I'd love to post the picture but not too sure how
