  1. From what I know, schools don't update them instantly. I recall I had one unsubmitted to NZQA for couple of months. Give the school another ring, and try to speak to the head of department.
  2. Bsc need 150 points, Credits; Achieved = 2 points, Merit = 3 points and Excellence = 4 points. If you're grades are high enough (And I would say surpass), it should be fine. Although University would prefer it if you have done Level 3. A friend of mine who was a year behind got into Biomed instead of 7th form, she was insanely intelligent and hardworking. Do 7th form, it's good. I was initially considering moving away from school at 7th form, but decided otherwise. I don't regret it, I was never good at school per say, but it was a very enjoyable experience. Teachers treat you on par, ever the grumpiest Head of Department. Have you done Level 3 papers? If you really want to min-max, save up the money required. Keep term depositing it until you've finished university, afaik there's no interest nor set up fees for student loans. Just don't spend it all on booze. Once you start uni..what else would you spend your money on?!
  3. Just isolate it and feed it up. Will be find in no time.
  4. Sounds like a fun project. I'm really liking the "Archiquarium" after seeing those Ponds with raised tanks.
  5. Personally it depends on the setup of the tank. If there's a cabinet which a canister filter can be placed in and unreachable from the children, go for that. If not, and the tank is backed to a wall with room for a HoB (Aqua Clear filter). Otherwise an Eheim pickup. Most of the specifics have been said, so it's really up to you and how your setup has been rigged.
  6. Yeah, return it if you can. $100+ for a 30 litre.. I've seen cheaper and bigger setups at hff. heck you can always go for some colderwater fish such as danios/minnows/giuppies. Hope you and your kids enjoy your setup!!
  7. On topic, I'm curious to whether the general population (Not us forum-ers) would be interested in these new fish that are getting in. From a (what i assume) a lfs perspective would they sell said unusual fish and in numbers with the price they come at. Sure, David you would like the true Texas cichlid amongst alot of others, but I'm not too sure if the hobby is quite large enough to accommodate something more exotic. Also the point with the breeding these fish with the "Kiwi ingenuity" and spreading them around through each other, yet we're here to discuss on getting these new fish allowed and imported to the country. Who are the one's getting these fish? I highly doubt the breeders will be in direct relations to importers. At the end of the day, I would believe asking LFS their opinions and whether they can accommodate and continue bringing these new fish in. Yes, it's nice getting cheaper fish, but I suppose in the long run we could just be diluting the lines we have.
  8. I take that back, it should be doing it fine. Just try and siphon it through.
  9. Naw that was a silver arowana not Saratoga
  10. Hey Cliffy! Welcome How did your guppy breeding go? Any awesome colours?
  11. Goldfish will eat the plants if they're hunrgy. I was thinking maybe feeding every two days (If you didn't go planted) which would lower the waste output. Also make sure you're the one feeding and not your work mates who might dump the whole canister in.
  12. It depends on the (cool) fish itself. Just ask what it's been feed on and you should get an idea (And if you're lucky ask to see if it hasn't been fed already). Anyway with dedication you should be able to get it eating pellets.
  13. Plants Vs. Zombies is a great game.. Although i can't remember the last time I've seen daylight.
