  1. I love them all! If I was allowed more tanks, I would try breed fighters..... They are my favourite fish.

In a pet shop I was at the other day they were feeding their axylotyls almost-frog-tadpoles..
  3. I remember a while ago I was on the nz post website and i think live animals were in prohibited items, there were some exceptions though..
  4. I have a similar video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_pjqTo06OE
  5. i have a guppy that looks exactly the same as that one in the trade me photo. He is one of my favourites.
  6. There are some really nice fujifilms in that price range.
  7. Yeah, it was a bit of a stupid question..
  8. Umm, where do you guys get your tank stands from??? I can't find anything that is sturdy enough.. and in my price range.. I am probably going to get someone to make one from me, but just asking if there is an easier way?? The tank i need a stand is my to-be-'Asiam' biotope (just noticed the typo..) l, I keep forgetting to measure it, so I don't know the dimensions. Also.. how much gravel will I need.. will 20kg be enough??
  9. A few years ago, when I got my first comet, I had it in a 15L tank and I honestly had no idea that tank was too small for it, until I went to Animates to buy it some friends and the lady in the shop told me they needed a bigger tank, filter, water conditioner... She also, told me about the 30-50% water change thing. She was really good and knew her stuff, but then there was this guy -in a different animates, who said that two GAE + 6 neons + a betta would be fine together in a 34L. You can't really blame some of the Animates people, they might really know their stuff when it comes to kittens or puppies, but just be lacking in the fish department...
  10. Oh yeah! I wanted Kuhuli Loaches!! I think the betta might have to stay where he is, because I do really want the danios... I like the idea of gouramis too. My dad used to breed them so he will probably like that idea too. . . Cool! Thanks!!
  11. I am in a question asky mood, bear with me. The tank is 150L more or less. I don't know the exact measurements, apparently it is 75-45-46, but its quite a few cms longer and wider. Firstly, Plants. 1) DIY CO2 or Liquid stuff? Which works best for you guys?? 2)Where would I find some nice driftwood in Auckland?? 3) What plants would you suggest? I would like them to fit the biotope,, but they don't ,have to. I have been told Java moss/fern, are good?? Secondly, Set-up. 1) I read somewhere that putting a layer of peat under the gravel keeps the PH acidic, which is what I need. Is this true and Have any of you guys done that?? 2) What size and brand heater do you suggest? I have Aqua One in my other tanks, but I saw some Blue Planet heaters that were quite cheap and was wondering if they are any good? 3) Charcoal gravel? Thirdly, Stocking. 1)I plan to keep danios, harlequin rasbora and maybe my betta in the tank? Would these guys be happy together? I am a bit worried about my bettas fins being nipped. 2) What bottom feeders fit the biotope? I was thinking Siamese Algae Eaters? Thanks.
  12. Not me actually.... My brother. Any way, They are currently in the 15L, but we are considering a 60/30/30 for when they become frogs. . . Is these okay sizes?
  13. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2007/2/aquarium Wow! I want that tank!!
  14. I just bought the tank. 150L, I think. I haven't got any of the other set up yet, but I am planning to make it a xmas holiday project. (I will need something to do, whilst stuck home babysitting my brothers...)
  15. I have been there twice, once during day and once at night!
  16. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 147242.htm I thought this was cool. If I had the money ..
  17. Yeah. I am waiting for it to arrive..
  18. The co2 is maybe after the light is replaced/fixed..
  19. The tank is an 60-30-30cm. The lighting was two lamps from the warehouse, with those energy saver bulbs, but they randomly stopped working, so they need to be replaced or something. I think being on for eight (more or less) hours a day, is not what they are made for. I am using my AR-380 light right now... Fertilizer, I have that API Leafzone stuff, and am dosing just 5ml a week.
