  2. Hence why none of this is happening till i've finished uni atleast lol
  3. yea would have other sources for heat and cooling. A garage is a good idea though just need to get lots of natural light so it looks good. With plants everywere
  4. yea the idea of the green house is it will help to warm it up too. you could even hook a thermo. up to fans in summer and have a zero heating bill. and doesn't stop at fish, could have a few reptiles in the area too. almost like my own little tropical zoo. need a big green house lol like the ones next to the auckland museum. ah one day
  5. i was thinking along the lines of getting someone else to steal my ideas but pay me to do it =p if only i had a magic geni
  6. you trying to tell me you don't But seriously i know it would be costly but would it be do-able? Te other idea was to get a green house and turn it into a jungle
  7. yea i've just been cruising round the net and they'll be too much =( shame really they sound like amazing fish. feel bad for them. ah well when i'm rich from winning loto i'll just build a massive aquarium and have a school of em =p
  8. ok so i'm doing my usuall thing were i have a fishy idea which i will never do but like to explore. so i was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with heated/tropical outdoor ponds? and is this going to work in a place like palmy were in winter it can get cold? was looking on trademe at some pacus and other big fish that are out growing tanks and thought about a big rescue tank/pond. but as i'm a student prob not the best idea right now lol. still keen to hear what people have to say. Oh and after thought...... has anyone kept pacus for a long time? or had grown ones? i've been reading how they can live for 50years and reach between 60-100+cm
  9. hey there is an auction for some pacus online in a small tank. was thinking about "rescuing" them, but i know that they grow real fast and big. is a 6x2x2 going to last them long? he has 4 in a 4ft tank. their about 1ft already. and i know you can feed them lots of random stuff but any dietery nonos or needs?
  10. my pandas did the same in my 90l before i moved them to my 4ft. they will grow at slightly different rates to each other. if you remove some and put them in a bigger tank or one with less livestock they may grow a little faster. as for size i don't know. i've only seen mine spawn once so have no idea the time frame exactly but when they start looking like their parents but still only about 1 to 2cm i think thats between 1 and 3 months
  11. yea a portable one will help me out heaps at uni and getting a desktop anyway
  12. yea i'm looking at a netbook as it will be much lighter than this and longer battery life, and just got a real cheap desktop from my dads office thats quite newwhich are the main two things otherwise i wouldn't be worrying about it. i could always advertise on campus for cheap i suppose. ah well we will see lol

I will be making my final journy to palmerston north either on the 25th or 24th but will not know how much room i will have till next week so if you need something that week let me know and i will keep it in mind and let you know my situation next week.
