get some filter wool or a coarse sponge and put it in the out take . this way it will limit the flow of water. the alturnative is turn of the filter all together and get a small sponge filter or under gravel. i know it's more money but can get a sponge filter for $10 or so. maybe even someone on here will have some cheap ones down your way. hope this helps man

Has anyone done a full tank of hair grass before? i've decieded i don't likemy tank and want to start a tank just for hair grass so i can then transfere it to my 300L com. tank with out having to buy heaps to begin with. Main questions are ; does it need intense lighting " " ferts " " or under gravel stuff. i've got a little but most of it seems to have died off and the few strands i have haven't grown or shot of runners since i got then 4 months ago

got a question. when you first set up the tank did you buy enough plants to stock it up or did you wait for them to grow in?

i know right. i've seen some mods were they rewire and put LED strips in. that way you can also do a moon light affect. just wondering whether basic electrical knowlage would be enough to do it. still haven't ask in stores about led lighting though. maybe i'll do that tomorrow

hey even though it doesn't look good are the stock halogen lights good for plant growth? was thinking of turning it into a strickly planted set up for a while with co2 and ferts to get it astablished. then maybe turn the temp down and put shrimp in and maybe a school or embers

Hey on the topic my mum has just offered me her 2 sae and about 10-15 ember teras as she's downsizing to a 30L. was wondering if that is going to be to many fish? just under 300L turned over 4 times an hour would have (proposed stocking) 6 angels 8+ panda cories 5 SAE 5 GBAs 6 Black window tetras 10-15 ember tetras 2 wild kribs 2 Macmasteri 2 Apistogramma sp. Steel Blue (not deff on dwarf types just proposed so far) big peice of wood in the centre and lost of hiding/dark places

what if you post lost of brine shrimp in? or are they still do big? critter tanks are bound to support mass amounts or microbes? could one maintain and harvest them that way?

i would give up most of my fish and tanks for a snake. they will never legaly allow snakes into this country though. we have enough pests as is
