  1. want to be careful of those snails, they can get their numbers up
  2. I have had them in different tanks but fed on similar diets, left over fish food, and only the ones in particular tanks got it. will try more calcium in diet though.
  3. is that 100 discus and 100 cardinals =p that one. Horror or Action Movies?
  4. originally I had 2 panda cories and they breed. Females are larger and plumper than males, They do best in schools of 6 or more though. 26C temp tank and good food supply then do a cold water change on a stormy day, even better if it is rain water
  5. ok sweet as. I'm seeing if there parents do what their suppose to or not
  6. it has all those three and nothing else
  7. hey I have this again aswell and all I did was some gravel vac amd water change. It reminds me of the slime hag fish make when their scared
  8. Lilith Immaculate Cradle of Filth, Curtisy of Joshlikesfish
  9. ah and another note, check the water ph levels, as this can eat away at their shells, if you want beautiful smooth shells. I think just 7-8 ish is good. aslong as it isn't to acidic as thats what eats at their shells. I think I could be wrong
  10. put a male and female in any of my tanks with food, wait for rggs, them make sure they don't dry out/ get squashed/ fall off, then one day you';ll notice there are some broken looking parts and aslong as your fish aren't patial to a tastie snail dinner you should get babies. The hardest part is once the eggs are hatched for me. The lids sometimes get too wet ans the water causes the eggs to slip off, but they need to be moist so don't want to move them WARNING: I let 2 egg bundles hatch and ended up with over 200 snails lol so be prepared.
  11. yea I can see why they would do it and they do seem to be in good heathy, at the end of the day it probably comes down to ethics
  12. yea finally after sussing out who was who I have eggs =p layed on the filter of all places lol so going to see how they go before I fully babie proof it. I don't have any methyle blue but have a wunder tonic which has it in it, would I be able to use this?
  13. I think I can see the body of a stergon in that first one. they can get to some massive sizes too
  14. they are definitly tropical. If you have no luck on TM I am trying to get mine to breed again
  15. to an extent. I did some experementation with this last year when my apple snail population exploded. They can go down to about 18C but much colder and they don't move very much as their metabolism is slowed down. This Is also the case with water temps over about 27-28C except it speeds up their metabolism so they eat and move more but live shorter lives. so if your room temp stays above 15C on the coldest days they will be fine. My flat gets down to 12C or less in winter so have to keep mine in heated tanks. Hope that helps
  16. they would bearly be able to move. Wouldn't mind building a small lake with an underwater veiwing areas and chuck some of those South American monsters in it
  17. yea but then I need places to put those other fish lol I think I figured out who was who. the pair has spawned a few times already just didn't have a tasnk suitable. I've put all my GBA babies in as their to big to be mouth size any more and they'll love the room
  18. Hey guys another angel breeding question here, well more of a breeding problem lol. Ok so I have set up my tank and am trying to breed my silver angels who have already laid eggs twice before in my com. tank. But every time I went to catch them they would huddle with my other 2 Silvers and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I pretti sure I know which are the males and females, 2 of each, and have put all 4 in the 150L breeding tank for now till I can see who is who. Here's the problem. It seems to me that the females are sticking together and casing the males to opposite ends of the tank. Can you pair up any male and female or do they "bond" to the spacific fish? Because I'm thinking of just findind the dom. male and putting him in with one of the females and cross my finigers
  19. ok well they wetre only used for a month or two initially but will try cleaning it out
  20. My brother had to buy a tread mill cuz these guys are all over the place in the evenings
  21. Ok so while I was in Auckland over the summer I bought 2 internal filters and used them in mu tanks up there. They were fairly quiet. well I have just put them both into tanks and descovered they are alot nosier than when I used them in Auckland. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? or is it just what happens after being unused for a few months? They worked perfectly fine it's just the noise.
