Although I am a fan of UGF in small tanks, I feel a 250L needs more, like an external canister filter.

I assure you it isn't finished Gotta take more once the pond plants have been added and all have grown heaps.

White cloudiness may be a bacterial bloom caused by the water change. It is harmless and should clear in a few days.

OK, here's an update of the pond. Remember the start? Then April... and now October... The water itself is actually clear but with no plants for competition, the algae growing on the bottom shows up clearly. The water lilies are just starting to throw up new leaves and I have planted pots of Japanese irises around the edge.

I don't know about knifefish sensitivity but I would remove the krib and treat her separately. Cheaper too if you put her in a small treatment tank as you use less meds.

Have you got a pic of it? I have seen actual box filters that are round balls and it may be one of these rather than an airstone.

Under each person's post at the bottom left you will see; Profile, PM, Email, To send a PM to Dave, for instance, find a message from him then click on the PM button at the bottom of his post. When he replies, you will see at the top of the page where it has Home, Gallery, Guidelines etc it will say You Have 1 New Message. Click on that and it will show you the PM Dave has sent you. I will send you a PM to show you. Keep an eye on the top of the page for it to change when the page refreshes.

Why cycle the new tank? If you have a tank set up, put the filter in it to seed.
