  1. Not sure if they still use these classifications but: Class A: It is illegal to possess these plants Class B: You may have these plants but CANNOT pass them on Banned: Not allowed in the country unwanted organism: One that will be detrimental to our native flora and fauna
  2. Oooh now there's a thought. Better yet, let's sell it on TradeMe. It will be unique as it is a special limited edition! Almost finished printing and have folded, stapled, wrapped and stamped just over half so far.
  3. Perhaps a cheap source of CO2?
  4. Warren actually got his when he stayed here at the beginning of the month Is that favouritism or what?? Actually, we did not realise at that point that getting a new printer to replace the faulty one was going to be such a long drawn out saga  as we thought the rest of the magazines would be able to be printed the same week as they would normally have been.
  5. They probably give the fish bad breath and make them fart
  6. Shows he has good taste. Have almost 200 printed so far. Should be all go Monday.
  7. Guess what!!!! Finally got the print run underway!!!! YAY Hopefully all will be posted Monday morning so will just make it within November 8) Of course, it didn't help that the budgie nibbled 5 pages of one book
  8. It can be a genetic fault or a sign of old age sometimes.
  9. I have had large BNs out of the tank for over 2 hours before finding them and putting them back in the tank - none the worse for wear 8)
  10. The first lily has flowered... The fish keep doing their thing and we have managed to catch a few fry and dump them in the other pond. The rest will be survival of the fittest. Off to Christchurch soon for more plants.

    Hi Everyone

    Welcome blackadder 8)
  12. Sincerest apologies for the delay. As some of you know we have been involved in a long running dispute involving our KYOCERA printer. Although they have finally admitted it had problems, and have sent a replacement, the duplexer won't work so the magazines can't be printed yet. We are awaiting a reply from KYOCERA (again! ) and until they actually offer some decent customer service, all my print jobs have been delayed. I would like to add if any of you are thinking of buying a new printer, I suggest you avoid KYOCERA!

    new fish

What else? Love those batfish.
  14. A proper plec needs a minimum 4ft long tank. A BN can go in much smaller tanks. A large plec can uproot your lovely plants and dislodge decor with the flick of its tail. A BN will not do this. Plecs are very large poo machines and their long trailing poos sit all over the substrate looking messy. A BN has much smaller poo.

    Angel Fry

Getting the hang of the new camera too eh?
  17. Nobody has said you are no longer welcome in this forum Henry. Your help and advice has been appreciated and we hope you continue to contribute to questions. We all do wrong sometimes, you have been caught and will be punished for it. End of story. I hope this doesn't mean you give up plants altogether.
  18. We should've checked what sort of filter it is 8)
  19. If you are wanting gravel to remain in the smaller tank I would just change the filter over plus the water. Top up bigger tank then, making sure temps and pH are same swap the fish over. Since it is the same filter, it will have the right number of bacteria for the fish, even if they are in a bigger tank. I would make sure the tank was settled for a week or two before adding new fish though.
  20. don't put baby anything in with angels. Not even in a breeding trap - angels are strong suckers!
  21. 25L is also very small so when something goes wrong, it does so quickly and easily. It is way too small to put 1, let alone 3 goldfish in. Being fine for 3 weeks makes me think they died from ammonia poisoning etc. Waht sort of filtration does it have on it?
  22. Hi there and welcome to The Fishroom
  23. Welcome. Inheriting is a lot better than having to buy

    angelfsh

If they are in a community tank the eggs will probably get eaten, or the wrigglers will at least. If you do not want fry then leave them alone.
  25. In Invercargill I wuold stick to comets and maybe fantails. Fancy goldfish can go outside in summer temps.
