Obviously some of you have too much time on your hands!  Besides which the third moon of Saturn is not visible at this time of year :-?
  2. Gee Billaney, only one?

I would think most farm supply places would have something suitable.

Just a small note here - the TANK is supposed to get onto the stand, not you
  5. Is this where someone suggests he will have to move to Canterbury? I am sure he will come through the surgery with flying colours and adapt to his one eyed existence.
  6. Believe me boys are cheaper and less hassle! (I have one of each so know from experience!)
  7. Only the wascally ones!
  8. I second that complaint! Shall we ban him or just poke him with your pointy stick? :bounce:
  9. and what's this "we" bit? Who will be carrying it for 9 months then pushing it out?
  10. There is stuff you can get that is used to coat the inside of concrete drinking water tanks. Don't know the name of the product though sorry.

Two further suggestions... 1. Tape duct tape or similar around the top edge (mine is 4cm wide and some sort of material, rather than plastic, stretchy tape. Bought at an auto shop I think) so you can't see the water line. 2. When you look at the tank, tip your head sideways to the appropriate angle until it looks level
  12. And if you keep to the speed limit it costs you no extra and you don't have the added expense of having to buy a radar detector!
  13. As I make so few mistakes I don't mind if wok feels compelled to pick up on them  Keeps him amused. Lamb shanks are great in the slow cooker. Some of the other suggestions are too greasy for my taste.
  14. Those black and white discus must be sick since they appear to be lying on their sides
  15. I think you will find the concrete will always leach and raise the pH without some sort of sealant. You will also have to make sure the sealant gets into all the spaces and no bit of concrete is left exposed.

Hi and welcome. I like the bristlenoses too. 8) Would you like to add your location to your profile? (under User Control Panel top left of the page) It helps sometimes when answering a question, or offering help if needed.
  17. What do you mean "here"? Your place or the KMAC meeting?
  18. Grant slathers it with mustard
  19. Sounds like your only option is to move as he isn't going to change. With his name on the lease you are stuck. Talk to WINZ. You might end up with higher rent payments but you will save in lower bills for power etc. to off-set it.
  20. I can't invite others! There wouldn't then be enough left for Grant's sandwiches! No point having silverside if there isn't enough leftovers for sammies.
  21. ... Or "slow cooker" as the new fangled ones are called nowadays. Never use your crockpot when you are actually going to be inside the same house as the crockpot while it is cooking! It is fine if you set it to start as you leave for work. You come home to a lovely smelling house and a cooked meal. If you are home during the day you have to suffer smelling the stuff cooking ALL DAY!!!! Boy I'm hungry :-? (New Word has silverside on special this week so guess what we are having for tea) :bounce:
  22. I get excited when I wake up in the morning too. Proves I am still alive  How kind of them to put the eggs somewhere where it was easy to get such a nice photo!
  23. Hard to tell when looking at fluffy stuff in a fluffy pic Fluff, often looking like it is perched on top of the skin, is often a secondary infection caused by a wound underneath. It may, or may not, need some sort of anti-fungal treatment. I know of some who discovered that when they manged to pull the fluff off, found the fish had actually healed nicely underneath and nothing further needed to be done. Are you able to catch the fish for a closer look and gently see if the fungus is easily removable? If it is, you may have to treat the underlying infection. I wonder if it originally bashed its head getting stuck in a tight spot at some point and that is how it got the original damage.
  24. As said, no need to clean out a canister filter until the flow rate slows. Mine goes 6 - 12 months between cleans
  25. Caryl replied to Pegwood's topic in Freshwater
Personally I like under gravels, but only in small tanks (say 2ft or less) as I don't think they are good enough for a larger tank - but can be used in conjunction with other types of filters. When you say you need a pump, everyone seems to assume you mean a filter. Do you mean a pump to run the under gravel? The canister filters other have mentioned all have a pump built in. A pump on its own is not filter.
