  1. Aerosols can be a problem but my deodorant was roll on. The toothpaste was fine even though it looks like it is made of similar stuff. People pack hairspray I think so aerosol deodorant ought to be OK. Check online at an international flight carrier's web site as they list the do's and don'ts of international travel.
  2. I had a small plastic tube of antiseptic powder in my toilet bag in the suitcase. It exploded during the flight. I did not know this until we reached the hotel and I opened my case. Everything was coated in a fine white powder! I was very pleased they had not picked me for a random search through customs  The plastic appeared to be very brittle and had shattered, although it felt smooth and bendy to touch when I put it in the bag (and it was brand new so not an old tube).

Do they still do that??? Grant and I are teetotallers and he used to get hassled a lot for "not being a man" because he hated the taste of alcohol  It isn't so bad if you are female but, good grief, I thought times had changed even if binge drinking has taken over youth culture these days  I still remember one year a long time ago when one of our regular couriers dropped off parcels and, in the course of the conversation (it was Christmas) we mentioned neither of us drank alcohol. He looked absolutely flabbergasted then said "But how do you celebrate???" We pointed out we managed just fine, enjoyed ourselves, remembered what we did, had no embarrassment or consequences the next day nor any hangovers 8) I had lunch with friends today. I enjoyed my pumpkin soup

Good to see there are a few intelligent teens out there (or pre teens) who realise smoking is stupid. Perhaps I ought to take the smokers to visit our patients who have emphysema as a result of years of smoking. It is a very slow, undignified, and painful way to die

Been to Nelson and got a lovely new drug list for Grant to see if they can get his rheumatoid arthritis under control again  Went to Quiz Night and lost by half a point. Doesn't matter though as The Microbes (our arch enemies  ) came about 4th or something. We don't care who wins, as long as it isn't them. We would have won if we had listened to Grant who said My Boy Lollipop was sung by Milly Small and not Little Eva, or if I had remembered Baked Beans was sung by Mother Goose (I put Hello Sailor :-? ) But.... we won the jackpot of $120 so that was good. Plus we got $30 on the bar tab for 2nd place. :happy1: :happy2:
  6. Don't make eye contact with anyone selling anything unless you actually want to buy something! They are relentless!! And, if I remember correctly, it was under the Sim Lim Tower (or the Square over the road) there is a food court with an excellent selection
  7. Remove as much of the cyano as you can, either by hand, vacuum or whatever. Blackout the tank for 3 or 4 days. Do not feed the fish during this time. If it is just at the top of the moss then remove the moss.
  8. Wrong E He is referring to erythromycin which is a prescription only medicine.

I hope you don't come unglued then! (that will only be funny if you see the spelling error in the above post) I am off to Nelson as we need to see the rheumatologist (again).
  10. They say you should not buy anything before the seller has offered at least 3 price reductions
  11. I got that in the top of my moss as it was closest to the lights. As said, cynaobacter
  12. See how good we are? We can identify fish psychically
  13. Not through this forum you can't Check the rules.
  14. Perhaps it is slightly different stuff. You didn't use a silicone or something that had mould inhibitors in it did you?

Were you looking at NZ$$? I buy all my stuff from there as it is cheaper.
  16. Grant buys all his electronic stuff from Singapore and other Asian outlets. Nothing added required.
  17. That is a good link. I think the choc chip would be better as the Oreos would be a little overpowering (plus I don't like Oreos). I suspect you roll it width-wise as it will be too thick and will crack under the weight if you rolled it long-wise.
  18. Thanks to you both for that information.
  19. Instead of sitting back and waiting (which doesn't work) you need to go ahead and make up some flyers to put up around the area and actually organise a BBQ to invite people to attend. Make it BYO so you do not end up with leftover food.
  20. I guess Curt didn't pay the bill It was a site I referred to often so I hope he sets up again.
  21. Can anyone get into the plant geek site? I can't. It says This Account Has Been Suspended (Please contact the billing department if you feel you've reached this page in error). I assume it must be their account that has been suspended, which is why I can't get to it, as I don't have one (as far as I know).
  22. I think they will need the wood if you are not feeding them bottom feeder pellets that have lignin or something in them which is what they get from the wood. I fed my BN fry whole pellets as they suck on them. Not sure why you have put them in a breeder net. How big is it? They will need more space than that if it is one of the little box net things I am thinking of.
  23. I certainly did - I made wok's famous chocolate cake. Very tasty it was too! Youngest guest (aged 4) insisted it had to have candles but it was too windy to light them. Cookies n cream pav roll sounds interesting. Recipe please! :bounce:
  24. Thank you to all who attended our Tank Parade with us. We had a great day, lots of fun, and delicious food at the BBQ (especially the desserts ) Special thanks to the FNZAS President, Jennifer, who managed to join us for the day, even though she is very very busy and had a broken toe! Hi to Lionel and Jeanette who came over from O'Kiwi Bay to join in the fun and to Scott and his family from the Tasman club who also managed to join most of the activities. Scott is setting up a tropical tank and I am sure he now has a few new ideas and thoughts on what he wants. We had 16 on the tour plus more non-fishy people (my family mostly) turn up for the BBQ. Special thanks George for the fresh kahawai, it BBQ's beautifully
  25. We were having problems with spammers and hackers. These measures have helped stop that.
