If you didn't pay much for him, i'm guessing you have a colour variaty of the common pl*co. I think the LFS sells it as "gold spot pl*co"

well, the guy i got it off is gonna refund me for it so i think i will get a Aqua-One powerhead. at least i know it won't break down after one week :evil:

:evil: DON"Y BUY BOYU POWERHEADS :evil: I'm absoulutly sick of it. My 2000lt/h boyu powerhead is a real pain. the flow rate keeps changing at the best of time it is only pumping 2/3rds full out put :evil: lesson....don't buy cheap :evil:

the only external cannister filter i have used is the fluval 203 and i think it goes great soooooo simple to use...even i can get it to go :lol: sorry to hear about your bad experiances with the external cannisters. hope you get the eheim going again. good luck

Giant gourami would look cool. a big shcool of silversharks maybe?? or cigar sharks...or a mix of bothI think it would need a viewing window because the surface will be distorted with the surface agitation also, how big are you planning on??

I do a 20% water change every week but don't gravel vac as i have quite a few plants. as I just got a new tank and it is cycleing at the moment i'm not doing water changes.......I will be getting quite a few plants in the near future and lots more fish so the water changes will start up again

when you suck on the hose, doesn't the cannister start to fill, then you turn the motor on and attach the outlet to the spray bar and the filter goes?? that is how the 203 works anyway

I have a fluval 203 on my tank and the only thing i don't like is how the hoses are set up. priming.....suck on the outlet hose :lol: ...but make sure the cannister is empy first

I only have sterbai corys at the moment but a catfish only tank is planned in the near future as for the angelicus...they go for $70 in my area (I think) around 7cm

I think there is a larger specimen in organism in CHCH if anyone around here is looking for omthing similer around the $50-$60 mark

if you use the HOB i would go for an aquaclear. if you can afford a cannister it would be better again
