  3. you can use most peats , just wash it before you use it. i have 3 kinds of Anubias growing in my tank Anubias nana grows the fastest, i use the jbl base plant food and then just autumn gravel, its a nice brown colour gravel so it doesnt take your eye off the plants and the fish, if you use an orange, red or fruit salad it makes you look at the gravel as well.

yes that is true , most fish you buy are different colours than the ones you have at home because as fisg grow most of them change colour, also with different food they will change colour, like if you feed them colourbits (tetra) they get more gold.
  5. with boiling it you can soften the wood so be careful

  9. baking soda takes the air out of the wood! you can put it in warm water and then put the baking soda in, but remember some wood does not sink!! so no matter how hard you try it wont if its not ment to.
  10. easy way to sink in put baking soda in a bath/tub of water that takes the air out of the wood it can take a week to sink but sometimes i have had it sink in 1 day the lead is a good if it still doesnt sink.

we use to sell them for $8-$10 each but they are hard to catch in the wild and all loaches have goon up we now have to sell them for $20 , even the breed ones , i use to sell clown loaches for $7-$9 each thats how much they have goon up
  15. because barbs move alot more and faster than most fish they need more food, but what i do is feed 2-3 times a day just a small amount and you will have them live for years or until they die. try adding more as well 12 -15 would be better , you can put green, golden tigers, and anyother ones in with tiger barbs
  16. people that have different turtles dont part with them unless you no what your doing and sorry fins you cant learn about keeping them just out of books , you are looking at $400-$2500 EACH also you need good lighting if you dont they will die!

yuck!!! really hard fish to sell! alan has hit the nail on the head they are only good for eatting nice with one in a tank but never two because they could breed then their would end up with more ugly fish that no one wants to sell!! i hope your friend paid you to take them off his hands
  20. we have lots of turtles in nz but they only are knowen to people in the no, you have to no the right people to talk to before you could get your hands on anything different. i myself have had 5 different kinds and breed 1000's over the years

  24. one of our members is setting up his first discus tank so he has asked that at the meeting that he can get some help and idears on how to set it up and when to feed them, as most of our members keep discus he should get lots of help but this will help anyone that is looking at maybe getting into discus or well planted tanks.

    JBL novo sticks

they are good if you feed it to young fish you will have to make it smaller, its about the size of 2-3 tetrabits or colourbits as they are called now, it sinks slowly!! very good food,
