normally when you try to breed catfish you have 1 male and 2-4 females that stops him bugging the same female every time, well when i breed them i only had one male and one female so what i did the first time was take the male out and put a new male in after a month (that gave new blood lines), this time i took the female out as he was wanting to breed again after two weeks because he wasnt looking after the babies, he was being hard on her and as its hard to get females i didnt want to lose her so out she came, but to give her time out i got my hand on another female and put the two of them in with the male , well fire works he is a stud and wants them both :lol:

how to add fuel to the fire i put the female back in the tank with another female so the male will give the woman time out and the randy so and so has already tried it on with both of them :lol:

i wouldnt put a tank on them and you could only put a small one on it anyway, so whats the point but nice idear

HEAT PACKS ARE A LIFE SAVER! they will help keep the fish warm for hours, or pollie will do the job if you cant get any, (but its not as good) just make sure you write live fish SAME DAY on the box !

WHAT BABIES ARE YOU FEEDING?

i was ehiem all the way but the via aquas are good i have had one running for over 6yrs now and no problems , i have had fluval and the new ones are not as good as the old ones , i have had alot of the fluvals back. ehiem are good filters but they just dont have the flow for some of the big tanks around now,

Aaron they are 1000l/h we are all selling them cheep at the moment mine are a bit cheeper than hollywoods but not by much, they are a change over in filters so we all got them cheep and are selling them cheep well shocks last!

kribkrazy- you can buy jbl at most shops but only a few of us are jbl agents that means we could sell it cheeper than most other shops $10 -50gm $18 - 140gm $45 - 500gm those are my prices

the amount of food you put in has a big part in it and how many fish you have , now you have a big filter susan you will find the tank should stay alot cleaner!

its all in the food, water changes and temp! first off my temp is 26 and thats what it was when i breed them! i have food in 24/7 i use the jbl plecochips they are great they dont fall apart like most bottom feeding food, they get peas shelled, and other veges and i do small water changes twice a day but i dont put new water in i use water from my plant tanks that way i can do as many water changes as i like. and i tell them they are going to grow nice and strong for mummy hahaha (joke)

1st lot are coming up 2months old on the 29th of this month 3-3 1/2cm long. 2nd lot are 19 days young , they are so cute 1cm some are 1 1/2 cm

babies are selling well!! the 2nd lot of babies are looking so good alot better than the 1st lot as they are eatting more,

thats great good luck i hope you can rase them , fingers crossed!! there is a new frozen baby brine shrimp in a punch out pack the babies will eat that if you cant grow live ones (brine shrimp)

i work 6 to 7 days a week, and yes im in tomorrow and im always happy to put a face to the name. i have meet a few people off here and its great!

haha thanks i think susan , but it comes from keeping fish all my life and learning from doing different things. my shop can be found on the corner of pupuke rd and lydia ave , northcote/birkenhead. get off m/w at northcote rd off ramp (one to milford) turn right go past netball courts and the poe keep going , you will see a hill! go up the hill turn right onto pupuke rd then we are the first left! dairy is on the corner then we are a few shops down. look forward to meeting you

your fish look lovely so do your pets. i couldnt put my pics up but i think its nicer to see more of them than just one or two.

the tetra ph one is good as well but you cant get the refills so go with the hagen , refills are about $9 (hagen wide range)

hagen -wide range ph test is great!! under $18 aquarium pharmaceuticals -ammonia test is great (dont buy the dry tab's)under $20 nitrate/nitrite you can use jbl or aquarium pharmaceuticals both are good , cant remember price but under $30 each
