when you do tropical or cold water fish use the water from your tank then add the tonic salt

yes it works!! but with salt water fish you have to make sure the ph is the same , with gold fish i keep them in for longer and give them mushie peas at the same time ... a real pick me up

no its different stuff. could try it.... and putting some tonic salt in your tank

test for ammonia and ph!!! whats your temp? turn it up to 28 put your air up as well and get some white spot cure, if its really bad treat every day for 3 days, do take out the carbon in your filters if you have it. i find if a fish is stressed having as little light on the tank will help as well. fingers crossed

what pump was it ? was it your airpump? if so they dont need that because you have a good filter and that puts air into your tank as well

thats great!!! so the stuff that you put in your filter worked , i find it great i use it in my filter because i have drift wood that makes my water brown and when i put it in my tank it is clear in 24hrs

get Todd to bring the bins up and we will put some water from my plant tank, thats the best thing to try at the moment, oh and yes clean the filter.

hows the water looking now? i went round to look at susi tank on monday i found the problem the minute i looked at the tank, and it is something that alot of people do when setting up tanks with plant food under the gravel so she was not alone, she set up an undergravel filter in her tank and the plant food was put on top of the gravel plate, even people that have had tanks for years can do the same thing so i told her to turn it off and just leave the filter to do the cleaning . i hope its looking better susi and you can soon enjoy your tank again.

what food are you feeding him? they need lots!! and lots!! of food!!!! they only go fat when they have feed , if you dont feed them for a few days the tummy looks thin.

if it goes to the body or his fins start getting shorter then you have a problem but what you might have is the fish is showing what sex it is , red tail sharks get white tips on the top of there fine if they are male/female ( cant remember what one but only one of the sexes gets it)

it happens to everyone so dont stress , fish can go days with out heat before it will kill them, what i would do is put some white spot cure in because they might get it and that will stop it before they do.

susi if you want i have some big bins that i leaned out , you can put the water from your tank in them and your fish , take the gravel out and do wash the new gravel just in tap water and set it up as before, give me a call at work if you want the bins, 4806846. they are at home but my partner can give them to you.

7th September, 2004 Bottle Auction This months meeting has the added excitement of the annual bottle auction. John Eastwood has kindly offered to be our auctioneer for the evening. All you have to do is bring a bottle. Any old bottle of ‘something’. Wrap it so we don’t know what it is and bring it along on the night. Ideas of what you could bring are : bubble bath, wine, lollies or be creative and make something up. All the proceeds from the auction will be going towards the Spit Roast on Guy Fawkes and the monthly auctions. So come along and join in a fun evening. bring lots of change john likes to spend your money!! its a fun night anyone can come even people from other clubs!! we would love to see you

i would check for ph and ammonia as pegasus said. i wouldnt have sold furan but give it a go. be warned it stains your tank and i would use cycle after using it .oh and if you have carbon take it out. if they arent right by next week you can use my diaton filter, i will take it to the next fish club meeting if you are going or you can get it from my shop because that will help them.

well it will cost you about the same if not more to put 2 inside filter in your tank than a canister filters. if you are going to put inside ones go for the new fluval 4+ they are good but dont use a fluval canister filter the new ones arent that shit hot. the rio filters are cheep about $110 and they do 2800l/h but you only get a few years out of them sometimes you can get more but not often. what kind of fish are you having? because that can make a difference to the filter you would use

im happy to say it wasnt my shop but if i had upset a customer or one of my staff has i would want to know. Susi is a customer of mine and i really feel for her. Susi come down the our club meeting one night and you cam meet some really great people that can help you enjoy fish keeping, we also do lots of fun things out side of the club.
