  1. For sure, they will go into my ar620T when they are a wee bit bigger. Will most likely get a GBA or a albino BN for the 380 when the other bns are grown and moved
  2. This is what I was thinking to run in my sump, as Living art took the time to draw how my sump should look (thanks a heap mate) I want to try and incorporate carbon for clarity, aswell as bioballs and noodles, and pumice., and some sort of PH buffer, to try and stabilise my rain water
  3. ok, so if i put a divider in the tank, with a gap at the bottom, and get some baskets/make some baskets, i am good to go? Only thing is, how do i regulate the flow of the pump, or do i not need to? I looked at a 600l p/h pump at HFF for about $90. EDIT: Oh and thanks alot LA for putting in the time to draw that for me, much appreciated, as I don't have to research as much, can I add some carbon and some sort of PH buffer to that somewhere? We are on tank water, and I understand it has a fairly low hardness.
  4. The bolivian rams are pretty cool, are they similar to german rams? How pricey? They look nice, are they active?
  5. I have a small AR380 tank, with 4 x baby bristlenoses, and 6 baby guppies, 2 of the bn's will be moved to my main tank when they get bigger, as will the guppies, I want a nice colourful ACTIVE fish to go in this tank, I don't want another fighter, and my main tank already has dwarf gaourami's, can anyone recommend me a fish compatible with BN's, and 3 guppies? The tank is planted, with ambulia, and Java fern, it has driftwood, and some rocks, and a fine grit type substrate in black. This tank is right by my PC, so gets a lot of attention from me, so something active, with personality/character would be awesome Cheers in advance
  6. Yeah, I was considering converting my ar620t, but I will wait and buy a proper setup.
  7. I have a plane you can borrow sam, I can drop it off to you today.
  8. I WANT ONE!!!!!! FUNDS DO NOT ALLOW! I am saving for a 130d, but who knows, might just wait till we buy a house, and build a 4-6 ft tank and stand. oh and post up some pics when its complete.
  9. Actually, I believe there maybe some in hunua, in the lake above the falls, I used to tramp through there, and I remember little critters in the rivers, that lead to the lake. Might of been crayfish though, I can not remember, it was over 10 years ago now.
  10. I write enough reports for work, I would prefer not to write in my off time. Also, henward, That's one serious filtration setup. I hate to imagine the cost.
  11. Bring me back a some , I will pay you for your time
  12. I want to spend a week at your place, seriously, I could spend all day just looking at your setups, never mind the fish. Thanks for the thread LA, if you get enough replies with different types of sumps, might be an idea to add how to's to those with out, and sticky.
  13. Hadn't thought about the media to be quite honest. To get to the pump, I would have to slide the sump out of the cabinet, which wouldn't be too hard, unless i get an external sump.
  14. I knocked this up in paint, I hope it makes sense, what do you guys think? I know it's an odd size (taller than wider??) but that's how the cabinet is shaped p.s the shape of the drawings are not to scale, it's late, and I can't be arsed re doing it right now. Higher res version here: http://iforce.co.nz/i/gvpx54eq.png
  15. So it looks like I might be able to do this, I need a sump pump, an over flow drilled in, appropriate piping, and obviously a sump making. Anything else I should take into account, before I commit to this idea?
  16. Hmm, if i drill, and later on decide to remove sump, can I silicon over a glass panel?
  17. Would something like http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 262677.htm work as a sump pump? Not this exact pump, but something similar?, how do I go about getting the overflow, do I need to drill, or is there another way?
  18. This is why I want to run a sump. I have two tanks, I am possibly going to remove the c02 injection from he main tank (the one for i want to add a sump to) into the nano. I really want to remove the gear from the tank, and add another 7-10 liters of water to the system. I knocked up a paint image of what I am wanting to do, what do you reakon. Or should i pipe the canister spray bar into the sump? and add a power head to the main tank?
  19. Question 1, in a tropical freshwater system, is there much merit in having a sump. I have upgraded the standard trickle filter to a CF1200 canister, but I think a sump might be a good upgrade also, then I can move the heater, the uv filter, and maybe the co2 into the sump, giving me a much cleaner looking tank. My questions are, how do i get water into the sump, and out of the sump. At a guess, i need a overflow drilled into my tank, and then a return pump from the sump to the tank, do i leave my canister plumbed in the main tank, or can i get that into the sump too? The dimensions of the sump would be approx 50H x 22.5W x 22.5D cm If this is a waste of time, then ill forget it, at this stage its something id like to try if it is going to give me a healthier tank, and a cleaner looking tank.,
  20. can you put some camera's in? http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/4b84afd30 ... View/L6114 http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/4b84afd30 ... View/L6111 Catch the bastard in the act.
  21. Well I moved, no drama's at all. Both tanks are now setup, and running fine.
  22. this interests me, I want to convert my ar620t into a reef, but don't know where to start, I reckon I could fit a sump, and a canister filter into the cabinet below, but still unsure.
  23. oh and they sell 500ml bottles of it for like $2.50 or $3.00 IIRC
