  1. So here I am again, pondering the wonders of modern technology. Recently I bought a tablet, and now I even have a few silly games to keep me entertained. Yep, technology is good and one day I might even buy a smartphone.... Now I'm thinking about changing to Blu-Ray from DVD and I wondered what people think of it. Is it just another tech gimmick? The video stores aren't getting rid of all their DVDs and moving to Blu-Ray, their Blu-Ray selections are still quite small. So the situation at my house is - we don't have a big screen: we have a 24 inch LED TV. We rent movies from the video store, we don't buy them to keep. We do send the sound through the stereo speakers rather than use the speakers on the TV, but that's about as high tech as our TV and movie watching gets. Those of you that rent Blu-Rays from the video store - do they still skip? I thought that perhaps since they have less customers, that the discs are less scratched. We rent movies that skip sometimes multiple times, I thought that perhaps a change in quality or technology might make a difference? Any thoughts? thanks

Yep - mashed banana, lemon juice, mixed straight into the caramelised condensed milk from a tin. You could go all cordon bleu and boil a tin of regular stuff if you like though :slfg:

It's this pavlova roll with his DIY filling as mentioned before. And not rolled up by the long side, rolled up by the short side so there is more to roll and curl in. Doing it by the recipe would make more of a log than a roll. http://www.aww.com.au/food/recipes/2003 ... lova-roll/

My birthday cake - husband-made - pavlova roll filled with banoffee, coated in vanilla cream, sprinkled with cocoa... it lasted about 5 minutes. The filling is just caramel condensed milk, a bit of lemon and mashed banana.
  7. I always found that my worms stayed around the middle where the food was, so every once in a while I'd stir up the outsides a bit and spray with water.
  8. They are so funny when eating snails. Zipping around the tank with a snail in their chops :sml2:
  9. Like I say, my experience was opposite to that, the less light it had, the spindlier and straighter it grew. When it was in good light it relaxed horizontally and grew tendrils. I don't think it's that much of a reliable 'carpet' plant, you'd have to try it out and see how it performed in each situation. Barnacle has the nicest christmas moss, I'd like to know what lighting he had. I think it was a low tech tank.
  10. My christmas moss did OK when it was close to the lights, I think to get it to stay flat like that you'd either have to be always trimming it, or he has brighter lights. Mine always tried to grow up in a straight line. Dwarf chain sword or echinodorus tenellus tenellus was the best plant I had for making a grass on the bottom, but only did well when it wasn't crowded by other plants over the top.
  11. I would put as much of the water from the old tank into the new tank. As the new tank is that much bigger than the old one, 35L would only be 'a bit' anyway.

why don't people want to buy my breeding tanks? 2 auctions on TM and not a bid or anyone accepting a cheaper offer. And 11-16 watchers each time :cry1:
  18. Auckland Fishkeepers Association is a group on Facebook, or you can send a private message through here to 'Li@m' . AFA seems to have disappeared off the main web page for clubs.
