  1. indeed, one of the many that poop on your property Caryl.... when the neighbours ask why they had to pick their cat up from the Pound, you can say you were trying to catch a turtle....
  2. Is that true? I'm asking because I don't know - I thought fast moving current was an indicator of dissolved oxygen. When I was reading up on hillstream loaches I think it said something like the faster the river, the more oxygen they get, which is what they need. To be in a truer biotope shrimp would need something similar. I'm not saying don't keep shrimp in an aquarium however, I've done that myself.
  3. Joe will catch it for you! It's true, I heard they travel in packs. When travelling from further than 1km they tend to drive the TurtMobile. Keep an eye out in your neighbourhood
  4. word of your luscious pond has spread far and wide Caryl, keep a red ear out for more visitors out on a turtle pilgrimage
  5. good idea this is the one that I am meaning
  6. Goat for Sale Doritos ad :slfg: Fi5hguy take heed, this is why you aren't allowed a goat http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4d8ZDSyFS2g
  7. send a pic to Supasi, he might know what it is
  8. better yet, get Anthony Law to take a picture with his camera, then it will look like a painting :digH: running away now
  9. Does it look like a transparent worm with tiny red/black dots all through it? If so it's a bloodworm egg casing, laid by midges.
  10. Neon said lots of hers are gone too but her boatmen are still alive. My first batch also disappeared down to 4 in a week or 2. Did you use water conditioner? I don't think crustaceans like it. Didn't you also say they were quite young ones? Other than that I suspect it's normal attrition/shock for little critters taken from the wild to die :tears: . In the stream they would get alot more oxygen than in the tank, maybe it is combination of that and shock of captivitiy.
  11. what is the gold and red fish fourth from the bottom?
  12. Looks cool. The shrimp look like they still have some green colouring too. If you fire some presoaked flakes in using a dropper/baster then they will get it at the bottom but you might have to drop some on the top first to distract the fish. :cophot:
  13. :smot: tonight what is spinning my wheels is Kapiti Gingernut ice cream. One of the most expensive ice creams at the supermarket, but it's yummmmm. !drool:
  14. The snails look black to the eye but when I took a photo on macro they did have some brown like the mud snail below. Yes, same place your moss came from, would you like some more?
  15. there was a motherload of black snails, they were living in the moss growing on the rocks. We also saw but couldn't catch a small eel, caught some water boatmen, various ostracods and water critters. Sam and I donated his leeches to Neon's bucket since she wants to purify herself and become a better person :dnc1: Saw some koi too.
  16. What if you got another tank from another manufacturer and just cut your losses and sold that on TM? You would at least get a fair bit of your money back and if you put in your auction that it needs some extra bracing then you have been honest. You've already had one interested person. Then you can get what you want and not have to deal with the original guy again.
  17. If I were you I would take Alan up on his request to send him a PM with the maker's details. He's been in fishy business for a long time and knows a lot of people so he might be able to help. He wouldn't bring the business into disrepute or give you anything to worry about.
  18. very nice !drool: what sort of harlequins are they, they look very blue
