  1. I am going to give no food today to see if mine come out a bit more readily tomorrow. That might work for yours too. Naughty little buggers they are when they want to be.
  2. Are they outside in a poly tunnel Alan?
  3. So the killie tank now houses the 3 males - a big difference in the tank environment now, each fish chases the next one smaller than it, the smallest has become a master of disguise by losing his colour and blending in with the driftwood. Makes feeding a bit harder as I can't see him, but I find some carefully placed bloodworms have disappeared when I go past the tank again. Plants are doing well, all the crypts are regrowing and I have counted at least 20 of them.
  4. cutie little turtle bottoms! can you see their heads poking out of the top too?
  5. if the hairy tree was under water we would be discussing its algae problem
  6. waiting for updates.... I was going to do something like this with my 'spare' tank
  7. Is there a Spike update?

    Scheeli fry log

An entertaining weekend with the killies in the bugs tank. They ate what must have been at least a thousand mosquito larvae by 9am yesterday, I could only find a few and some on the surface. By the end of the day they had picked over those as well and there was nothing left. Yesterday I caught more daphnia from the trough and put some of those in with them this morning - this was amusing as some of the daphnia put up quite a fight in trying to escape their jaws. One killie squeezed between a rock and the glass like a rat in a drainpipe in an attempt to rootle out some bugs that had found a place to escape. The killies really have to work to catch the big ones. Adult female is not so interested in hunting her daphnia unless they go past her nose, too used to being hand fed I think  Either that or she is already full
  9. It may not be evening wear, it could be a kind of fish bridle and what the ____ is the spotted monster in the background?
  10. It was a cockatiel in the bath with a finch riding on it's back. For that reason alone you should beg your parents to justify getting broadband if it's available where you are.
