This is probably the last post in this log for a while - tank is now bursting with mosquito larvae and I will use it for a fry grow out tank for my killies, with as much live food as I can grow or catch in the troughs. The 2 Shrimps are still alive and well, and the ostracod, only now they are not so alone 8)

checked the rafts in the tank and many of them have broken up into little pieces, there look like hundreds or even a thousand wrigglers in the tank :bounce: Found another collection of new rafts and have put those in there too. Got a heater in it so tomorrow or Friday someone is going to have a feast.

I don't know about birds but it looks old and out of shape, maybe like the guy you got him from. what colours are his feathers supposed to be?

after I discovered that they hatch within 48 hours I whipped em downstairs to the bugs tank and put them in there. Next I will get a heater and put some of my killie fry in there to get chomping!

If I send my female scheeli to the garage tank for a breeding holiday, will she stop laying eggs or will she continue to lay and they just don't get fertilised?

what do you think of my rafts? This is my water bucket that I started a week or so ago and then on the weekend dumped some pea and spinach juice in from the blender.

Lots of interesting things at the shop as usual. Came back with a list of 20 potential species, got it down this far at least. Choices I like best in no particular order : cold: white cloud mountain minnows pearl danio tropical: cory hastatus scarlet badi clown killies gold australe killies if anyone has any stories to tell about any of these I'd love to hear it.

Nature refuses to let me culture (read 'control') it!! :roll: I will leave my bucket of green water outside and see what grows in there. If it ends up being a live food source then all well and good, I have a free tank. Next thing I found was scarlet badi or dario dario! Those are very sweet little fish. It seems that a pair would be OK in a little tank. I can feel a 'just looking' trip to HFF coming on this afternoon....

Josh breeds 'em mean & hungry are your minnows in a tank or pond? These are pretty as well. My options are building :bounce:
