I know how you feel Im very new to all this. The way I read it was the first dose lasted 3 days, then a half dose on the third day. So lets say for a 40 ltr tank 2mL on day 1, and 1 mL on day 3. Fish showing any discomfort at any time during this should have a 50% water change. Theres another post some where that refers to the discomfort like coughing for fish, heavy use of their gils. Ive been watching my fish closely and she doesnt seem bothered by it, when I fish put it in the tank she was swimming around in it before it had spread through the tank. But as i said I done a half dose, and quarantined my fish, increased the tempreture slightly too.

Im using this stuff now and it seems to be working a treat. On day 3. I used half dose to begin with and Ill do another half dose today following a water change today. I caught the whitespot very early though, and quarantined her. Shes doing great its hardly there anymore, but Ill give it another 3 days on half dose I figured just to be sure.

Wow yeah that sand looks very nice exactly what im looking for, I was looking at some in an lps and they were trying to push me into black silica, I already was very interested in the silica but they wernt listening when i said i wanted white. No No your fish show up better on black! I think the lighter stuff looks nicer, yours looks great, I dont care how well the fish show up as long as they're happy hehe. Thanks for your help morcs Ill be doing a photo diary sorta thing for this tank anyway, so I dont mind posting in here if people are interesting in my progress. This is like 6x the size of my other tanks, and Ive only been at this 3 weeks lol. Maybe ive bitten off more then i can chew at this stage haha. Ill keep to low light plants as I share the room with my fish I dont want it too bright in here. Ill be looking to pick up a filter/heater next week then, if anyone has anything 2nd hand. I should go see livingart too, hes got like a fish keepers dream of bits and pieces laying around the place lol, I gotta pay him for the last bits too

Ok so I just picked up another tank, this ones a lil bigger then I had really wanted to get into strait away but the price was right so I had to take it. Its 120cm x 45cm x 45cm comes out at about 240 ltrs I think. So I want to take this very very slowly, I want to make sure that I do everything as best I am able from the very start. So I need as much advice as possible. Ok so heres what Ive been thinking so far. Fresh Water tank. I really like that silica sand or other sandy looking substrates so I will definetly want to go with something like that. The only fish that will be a definate move into the tank will be my bolivian rams and perhaps some of their offspring, as well as some corys. So to start out with what I want to know is: Where should I start? (bearing in mind I cant go out and get everything I need all at once, some things might take me weeks to save for) I guess the fundimentals, best heating/filtering for a tank this size with my substrate in mind. I wont be starting for 2 weeks at least as I need to build a stand for it, have an old broken down slat bed with 6 strong wooden posts I think will be ideal. So its probably best to get the expensive bits out of the way.. So recommendations on lighting/heating/filtering this week would be much appriciated. I have time time time time time but not alot of money.

I got a couple of trains left you can use too mark, fairly old things mind you, but they look they part.

I run them quite low any way, nothing i have is into current all that much. I turned it down to barley on so its nice and quiet. Should I bring the tempreture of the water up, since they are the only fish in the tank? apparently 28 degrees there abouts is that right?

guess I must be doing something right then hehe, after my male fighter dying i was worried. I think I just scored a 200 ltr tank for a community tank. Im gunna take it very slowly though. Thats my first tank at 3 weeks old, just over 40 ltrs. I think it looks like some where a fish might like to live. I have ugf should i just turn down the amount of air and just pull the stone out of the tube? or shut it off altogether?

This is a little bit better pic, one came back and is sitting on the eggs now, its that kinda brownish fuzz on the rock to the left of the fish.

Moved out the corys, but they seem to have abandoned them now. maybe I scared them off or something, shocking pic but should be able to see the eggs there. sorry for the quality Ive tried everything, they look alot better before i post them too, seems to loose alot of resolution there.

eek yup no question they spawning alright, I have no idea what to do help! lol

I thought I had 2 boys lol, they're taking turns doing small circles on a rock and theres some redish stuff on the rocks, I havnt got closer to look at whats there i dont want to disturb them. Will they protect them? coz the corys might hoover em up.

hahah that sounds like fun to watch. I multi hand feed, daph wrapped in flake in my left hand, strategically positioned to block all rear viewing while gobbling occurs, while the right hand sneaks down to about half way and releases some crushed up novotab and flake. I usually get caught out but if gives the others a chance before Hapu gobble guts catches on.

I found the original Jaws movie to watch online. I find lots of stuff like that and was wondering perhaps people might like it posting. I think because the movies are hosted outside of this website that keeps us in clear water? Just wanted to be sure before I posted anything that could potentually get us in trouble lol.
