  1. :-( Angel fish died this afternoon. I searched heaps of sites for answers but my symptoms didn't match any of theirs. Oh well the rest of my fish are fine so I guess it was just his time. I do feel sorry for his girlfriend though as she looks pretty lost. Thanks.
  2. Yeah I thought that at first, but have read that they live for 15 years.
  3. I have a 6 year old male Angelfish that has been unwell for 3 days now. It's not eating, has its tail on the gravel and nose pointing upwards. It cant swim normally, only in the same nose up tail down position. It also seems to be gasping for air. I have a 450 litre tank, everyone else seems happy and healthy and the water is fine. This is an established tank, that hasn't had anything added to it recently and I have had the angel in this tank since he was a bubba. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  4. LOL. Yeah I meant the adults had red eyes. Wouldn't be so gutted if the babes had red eyes - that would be kinda cool. Thanks for all your input, very interesting about the 2 types of albinos. I have now removed the white female, and shall patiently wait for my next batch. Unless anyone out there has a nice large golden albino female they would like to sell me as I'm not really the patient type!
  5. Think I will now try each female separately and see what the results are. Hopefully it's not the boy that is the problem.
  6. I bought them all from my local petshop, but individually over the space of a year. The boy is a lovely speciman, he is the oldest and a rich gold colour. I have a nice small gold female and the other larger female is more white than gold colour.
  7. gutted alright! No possible way a brown got in there, as is a completely separate tank and they have been alone for months. I knew he had eggs in his cave, but couldn't believe my eyes this morning when there were little brown babies all over the glass?
  8. I have a trio (2 females, 1 male) of albino bristlenose in a tank by themselves and they have just had babes. But every single one is brown?
  9. breed with black eyed GBA's?
  10. Tank is 160 litres, well planted and heaps of hiding places.
  11. Have taken all fish out except for Dad and the babies as Dad has killed 2 tetras today and Mum is looking very battered. Have left Dad with the babies as he seems to be taking care of them? Hope I'm doing the right thing.
  12. Thanks. They got plenty of places to hide. I have about 1/2 doz little Tetras in there with them as I heard they needed some fast fish to attack so as to distract them from attacking each other.
  13. I have a pair of Kribs that have bred for the first time. Everything was going well - Mum in nest, Dad guarding it. Mum takes babes for a swim, Dad guards her...Until today (day 3 of free swimming young). Dad has taken over and wont let Mum near. He is constantly leaving the young to go and find Mum and attack her. What should I do... Remove Mum, Remove Dad, Remove them both or leave them and hope they sort it out?
  14. I have been trying to get rid of snails out of my 250 litre breeding tank for ages and now have more snails than fish. Would the loaches suggested eat baby bristlenose, baby guppies or baby platties?
