yeah but Im saying that the direction of the flow, its running up that back section of glass. flows down the front and up the back, so it might be helping it to climb up the glass. If that makes things any clearer.

Mines grown right up the glass on the back, didnt let it grow anywhere else. Its an ar380 though, so the water kinda flows up that back wall a little, the part of that wall that is near the powerhead however the growth has stopped, so im thinking perhaps the waterflow has helped it grow up some what. Ferts in the tank are ferrotab and folourish excell. Mines no where near as nice as that though, good luck on growing it.

Its quite a bright rich green more like you see in the top part, stems are reddish and very delecate. Foliage is similar to new fennel shoots. Growth is visable daily, as its not strong enough to push out of the water, it usually bends then breaks, and a new plant starts from that one. If any of that helps. Ill see if i have any clearer pics. As its growing so well I figure I can give away / trademe any extras so would prefer to know whats its called

btw if anyone wants some lemme know, got a few bunches spare and its growing hard out.

How big is he now? My stow away is growing fast, was about the size of my thumb nail when i got him, now hes nearly longer then my thumb. Has the same kind of markings as yours, but darker in colour. Ive been giving him a lil bit of zuchini every 3 days that seems to go down a treat. Hes very timid of other fish though, but comes to the zuchini when i put it in his cave. How big do these guys have to be before they can be sexed? Its a spike off the side of the head near the mouth on males right? and they have bristles too?

Thanks for the advice, Eva has taken up refuge in another part of the tank, she took the wigglers she had and placed them with the others, even though Marco was nipping her the whole time. Some are free swimming now, others seem a lil slow, got the free swimmers on infusoria or w/e its called. Made it using tank water, flourish excell and liquifry.

Anyone with any help on the eggboundness? I fuss over her far too much (much to my girlfriends disgust) but I really want only the best for her. Seems like shes been holding forever, my poor girl.

hehe I can understand this completely, my brain hurt after setting up my grow box. But fittings are availible from bunnings and all are marked very well and quite easy to understand. I got an aq-20 from lps for well under half what your thinking of paying for the t5s and it was no fuss installation. There wasnt anything to assemble for me, but on a new one I think you need to remove some kind of protective paper over the perspecs splash guard. I dont know how you would fit this into a hood though, as I dont have hood just glass lids to i suspended my lighting from the roof, before that I just sat it on top of the glass lids with no trouble.

Ok so I got wigglers now, the Mum and Dad had a huge fight though, Mum got a little hurt but shes ok. Dads got the wigglers, and he moves them about every 3 hours. They're growing fast. Im just concerned about Eva (the mummy) shes tame enough I managed to treat her wounds indervidually without stressing her, but I dont know if should remove her, and if I do will i be wrecking the pairing? Hes very aggressive towards her, but as long as she keeps her distance its seems ok. The problem is they have split the wigglers slightly, Marco (dad) has the majority, but Eva snuck a few off to a different spot. 5 times as many as i thought I was going to get too! They should be free swimming shortly, will the aggression change again then?

Why not just try eco bulbs? I swapped out my halide this year for my carnivorous plants, with ecos, power consumption is way down, and Im getting all the same growth results.

Yeah I thought so, would be hard to breed tails types wanted if it wasnt genetic. She still wont drop her eggs im getting kinda worried about her. Shes been holding for over a month now, Im not feeding her either, but she does pick up scraps, not alot though. I really dont want her to become egg bound, shes my sweety. Would constant contact with me be causing her to hold? She bands up when Im near, maybe we're too close lol.
