    The What's Up? thread.

I think the guys with the REAL workload don't have time for the forums

    The What's Up? thread.

I can imagine, feels like I've been spending more time out of school than in this year but hardly carefree with the workload :nilly:
  3. Li@m, your cat looks somewhat... puzzled :sml1:
  4. High quality flake should be his main staple, supplement with bloodworms and other frozen food. In the wild they would eat mostly mosquito larvae and I've had no problems feeding them bucket loads of that (as seen in one of the other Betta vids). You've really got me tempted to start up a nano again :nilly:

    The What's Up? thread.

I have until Friday, then 2 weeks "holiday" (frantically finishing boards), 4 weeks school then 2 exams, 4 papers total 8) Then DONE year 13 whooop!
  6. I think the contribution of a few leaves will be negligible so long as you keep up the water changes.
  7. Sella.co.nz is similar and is a bit of a flop. This could be comparable to Google's attempt at the social media game. Facebook has the customer base, that's something you can't just buy so although G+ is running, it's nowhere near as successful as Facebook. I wish him luck though, competition is good for consumers.
  8. It's cool when they do that aye? I've got a of of mine doing that (makes me want Bettas again now >.< ). Go easy on the bloodworms though, Bettas don't know when to stop and can really hurt themselves eating too much.
  9. This is my cat Skylla. Bonus points for fishy photos?

    The What's Up? thread.

Finished until next term :nilly: Got some plants in the mail from Zev, thanks so much again!
  11. Aquascaping World has a like button, it's really handy. Time to bug the admins I think
  12. People who take useless photos on phones use it to make them look "retro" and square, it's stupid but it's what the people want :nilly: Looking good though!

    boyu canisters.

I'd suggest Amazon and Ebay UK, those retailers are usually the ones willing to ship internationally.

    boyu canisters.

Fish-street don't sell FX5 as far as I know. They tend to sell non-branded gear. Buying from an overseas retailer, often one who has a shop, is the best option.
  15. They look like a cross between BNs and Ottos
  16. Known also as Hydroton, your local Switched on Gardener will have it.
  17. Use an inert medium such as plain gravel and make sure the plants NEED to take nutrients from the water. If they don't need to then they won't. They will need a light source and of course room to grow.
  18. Oh we're still talking about this tank? I thought we were just discussing filters in general. I think I call your "sponge filter" an internal filter. They do about the same mechanical filtration as a canister but nowhere near as much bio capacity. In this case, I think an external filter will leave as much of the tank free as possible, it is just a 50L tank after all.
  19. You have a sponge filter with 5L capacity with 1000lph turnover?

    Project AA

She asked me what the diffuser was the first time she saw it, made a comment about it looking like drug paraphernalia
  21. Yeah my local has corner box filters, maybe I ignore inferior products

And when my Mum comes in and sees me crouching down next to what looks like a crack pipe with a lighter, what's she going to think?
  23. My 100W Jager keeps my 192L tank heated to 26 degrees over Winter, 50W will be plenty for your tank. Up to you though. I would not recommend an under gravel over a HOB, they're an outdated filtration method I haven't seen for sale in ages. Personally I rank them worst to best: UG, Internal, HOB, canister.
