  1. 10x10x15 isn't a cube and you shouldn't calculate your tank space as different areas, you can't keep fish in set areas without physical barriers. I'm assuming you're talking about a full sized aquarium here, give us a bit more info such as.. 1. The length, width and height of the aquarium 2. What type of aquarium? Unplanted, lightly planted, heavily planted? Lots of hiding spots, bare tank? Female Bettas can be kept together provided they're introduced at the same time, have been kept or raised with other females and there are enough hiding spots/line of sight is broken.
  2. I guesstimate that over 98% of all hydroponics shops business comes from people who grow cannabis. The other 2% will be fish people buying plant tubes and hydroton  The issue wasn't that they were selling equipment used to grow cannabis, it's all legal until the cannabis seed is planted. The issue is that they were giving advice on how to grow cannabis and growing it themselves on site or at their homes. You can set up a grow tent perfect for growing cannabis if you want but until you introduce the cannabis seed or plant, no one can prove what you were going to grow.
  3. It can be hard to put a name to hybrids, another great reason not to cross breed.
  4. You can change your email after you sign up. That's what I did. But I agree, it is an outdated and annoying way of preventing fake accounts.
  5. Nice growth! Ambulia is such a weed :nilly:
  6. Any chance of a full front tank shot? :spop:
  7. Flick Zev a PM with the email account in question and the issue you're having, she can help 8)

    The What's Up? thread.

Doing my first water change on AA, don't let me forget about the running hose :nilly:
  9. Nice healthy growth and a TON of moss!
  10. I think Anthony is afraid of little tanks, it takes a fine touch to keep them balanced afterall
  11. They'll be fine, Mitre10 isn't too fussy  Thanks so much! And thanks Wok
  12. Any two will do so long as they're Sodastream branded. They just go into the exchange anyways  Thanks

You ain't seen nothin' yet Joe! Give it a month or two
  14. Shouldn't it be blocked by mechanical media? I like the idea of an island style layout, I've seen some with sandy foregrounds that trail to the back on each side with heavy planting in the centre. Then the difference between the two is broken up with various grades of pebbles in the same style as the main rocks or substrate. Can't wait to see this one!
  15. What do you mean it didn't offer any help? Improving water quality, reducing light, adding more plants and manual removal are four things that can help. Personally I got this type of algae growing on my dying red plants under too much light when there wasn't enough other plants in the tank. So I manually removed it, reduced the lighting hours and added more plants. Problem solved.
  16. I have the Hydor ETH 200 in line heater I just started using around 5 hours ago and so far it's been wonderful. My tank is getting up to temp faster than it would with a conventional heater and it's easy to set. Cost vs benefit, the Hydor ones are about as reliable as Jagers I'm told, not sure about other brands, paying an extra $40ish to keep the ugliest piece of equipment out of my tank is nothing really. I can't comment on effectiveness just yet but maybe in a month or two and reliability as above. Cost was $107 shipped from AquaEssentials UK and not available in NZL. In short, you need to weigh up whether or not you can justify an extra $40 for an out of sight heater. I did and I don't regret it at all. Make sure you unplug it when you unplug the filter though or else things get hot pretty quickly I'm told. HTH.

Thanks dude! Yeah they sure beat black or green plastic spray bars and intakes aye? They only cost $40 + shipping per set but I was super careful with them and didn't install them till the last minute, read so many horror stories of people with shards of lily pipe in their fingers
  18. If the lighting was adequate and you could find it, I'd recommend hairgrass. It grows to about 5cm in height and sounds like what you're after. If you couldn't source any of that, Java or Xmas moss would suffice. Can't help with planting though, I'm a bit of a drive away
  19. A long short list probably  Very keen to see how this one turns out! Info on plans Sophia? High/low tech? Layout ideas? :spop:
