:sml1:
Just bought a couple of fold up work benches, MDF, paint and the rest. Assembled one bench so far, lunch after I finish the second bench and then on to making my own light hood
I have few questions relating to these guys:
1. Do they need a covered tank? Will they climb out of a rimless aquarium?
2. What is the best thing to feed them on?
3. Where can I get some in Auckland?
Thanks!
In slightly related news, I just took my male super delta (avatar) and put him in a partially filled 45x25cm tank with a bunch of mozzie larvae that were turning into mosquitoes. It's great watching him charge around the tank after live food and I think it's important to try to encourage as much natural behaviour as practical.
It depends which sized trap and for how long. The small 150x100x100 ones are a bit small for long term housing but it's far better than having them in an unsuitable tank with hostile tank mates. I have one in a 200x150x150 net breeder and I reckon it's all good.
This is the first time I've gone with the "all-in-one" route simply so I could have a matching tank, hood and stand. Lights, filter, etc is all after market but it looks a LOT cleaner this way.
Yeah the foreground substrate was too shallow and the lights are mostly focused on the back half of the tank. I'm considering getting rid of the tank (only) completely and going custom :nilly:
That kid may have been many things but it sounds like he was mostly ignorant. Windows 8 is NOT the next (big?) thing and iPhone 5s are for dummies
