  1. You're on the right track with the CO2 and the PL lighting will be enough for HG, not sure about Glosso as my success with Glosso is limited. If you have a look at any well aquascaped tanks, you'll be hard pressed to find a decent looking cube iwagumi layout. Most of the iwagumis are at least 2:1 if not longer. Cube tanks do better with a steep slope and strong rock work.

Just received 6 GBA and 4 tiny red eyes, they're so cool!
  3. I sit my upside down bottle inside the bottom of another identical bottle like this: It creates a snug fit and solid base to hold it upright Also, removing the airstone has put more into circulation thanks
  4. Here's the issue I'm having with my current set up. Anyone know how to solve this?
  5. I see now! It's a bit bare for my liking but intelligent nonetheless
  6. Did any fish ever overflow or jump into the neighbouring compartment?
  7. Ah yes, the separators between each compartment are slightly lower than the exterior glass panels. Then the back panel is even lower than those, making the water flow down the back. I feel this would work better than the usually gap at the bottom due to there being much higher flow. I'm yet to try it though.
  8. I'm actually getting a similar tank made by Greg, just confirming the dimensions. It goes a little something like this: The idea is that the water flows from the back of the tank into the filter (internal or external), then back into each compartment via the spray bar. From there, the water overflows into the back compartment and the cycle is complete.
  9. So long as you put time, money, effort and no sunlight into it.

Thanks man, they're a good match aye? 8)
  11. I'd go with multiple smaller ones than one large one. Pumps are always rated at their maximum flow, most will sit below that with normal use.
  12. Number one cause of algae is poor CO2 distribution due to lack of CO2 or lack of correct circulation. I have two wavemakers rated at 2000LPH (they do less than that of course) in my 100L and I still have poor flow.
  13. What's the flow like in that tank? No flow gave me horrible algae.
  14. You'll be pulling your hair out at those sandy beaches   Looks promising, cheeky way of achieving depth Anything you CAN'T do with that foam?

Cool flower  Does anyone know where to dispose of fluoro tubes and bulbs in Aux?

    Nice Range!

Thanks! He still has a lot of growing to do. Nothing wrong with small scale, make them two of the best spawns ever

    Nice Range!

Oh yeah, commercially sensitive information and all  I really disagree with the whole confidential fish keeping attitude, it happens with aquascaping too, keeping things under wraps until show day and that's it. Much more can be learnt by sharing information with each other, there's more to gain here than money.

Maaaaaybe Average photos of a beautifully ugly fish

  21. Every bubble is different, BPS isn't a standard unit of measurement for CO2. If you put 4bps into a 100L tank, you're going to get very different results with 4bps in a 1000L tank. What you need to do is increase it slowly each day until the drop checker turns lime green or yellow, note how many BPS it takes to get it to this colour. This is the measurement for YOUR tank, when you need lots of CO2, you can turn it up to this level and roughly assume it will get you there. I turned mine back down when I first got fish and slowly increased it until they gasped, then turned it down so it's as high as possible without killing the fish. Hope this helps.
  22. CO2 starts the same time as the lights do. Some people like to wait 1 month before starting ferts but I've had no issues starting them from day 1.
  23. Got a name sorted or will there be a thread about that?
