2400k is warm white 4000k is cool white 6500k is cool daylight The first two are commonly available at most lighting and hardware stores, a bit harder to find the 6500k though.

I've got 13 in a floating container. Hoping to get that up to 20 by tonight, 30 then I'll move them. Their tank to be still isn't warm enough yet. I've just been netting them up on the front glass, works fine.

Fishless cycle? If so, google fishless cycle and read about it there. To summarize it: -Setup tank with gravel, heater filter and lights. Plants if you're going to use them. -Up the temperature to 28c if you want it to cycle faster. (Optional) -Add five drops of ammonia then measure the ammonia level using your test kit. -If it has risen to 5ppm, then leave it. If not, add more. -Once at 5ppm leave the tank running. Test everyday, maybe twice a day. -When it drops to 1ppm then add more until it's 5ppm -Continue this until you have to add quite a bit of ammonia to get 5ppm -Then leave the tank, measure the Nitrites, they should spike -Then the Nitrates will spike -Done! HTH

No worries guys, thanks for all the help He's still alive, appears stronger than he was last night. We believe he has a broken leg, he seems to be in pain when his legs are back (hence the wing flapping) but when we tuck his legs under him, he appears to be at ease We are feeding him quite often but he rejects the food when he's not hungry.

jenniferh! He's not in a good way, is not taking any more food (perhaps not hungry?) and is having seemingly random leg and wing spasms of sorts :-? I've put him in a little box lined with tissues (he was nose diving in the nesting material), let's hope he makes the night. The cage is in the office/fishroom so is quite warm.

He's gone downhill. Found him lying on the bottom of the cage and now he tries to fly but his legs go stiff behind him. He's eating some crushed up seed with warm water fed through a syringe. What's happened?
