  1. I'll have to come for a visit then, pity I've got no room for more fighters though. All but one are bunking at Joshes.
  2. Excellent, now what type of schooling fish?
  3. Oh wow, even during Winter? I've had that bucket out for ages, nothing yet. I thought there'd only be larvae when there are mozzies.
  4. I wasn't aware of it either until near the end of last Summer, when they'd almost all gone. Being a fish keeper, I had various buckets and cups lying around outside that had filled with rain water. Someone (Nick maybe?) brought up the topic so I checked for mozzie larvae. They seemed to like the algae infested buckets the best and fighters go nuts over the larvae.
  5. Summer's almost here, that means mozzies will be laying soon. Already got my bucket out with some driftwood and algae covered plants in it. Keen to hear how everyone else will be collecting larvae or any other live food for their fish over summer.
  6. I didn't think it was cureable either. Where did you get that fighter in your avatar? I assume it's yours, it looks a lot like one I used to have.
  7. +1. My HM got it pretty bad a while ago, I just dosed salt and improved the water quality.
  8. If the aggression gets too bad with three, I have a 60x30 my fighter probably wouldn't mind moving out of for a bit. Well planted too.
  9. They are on the allowed list, not sure if they're actually here though.
  10. Calm down, you only posted 25mins ago, give people time to respond. Just use your common sense too, make sure the plants have enough room to grow, think about their eventual size.
  11. O rly? The stuff I have at the moment is okay, I wouldn't say nice. But Brennos, feel free to come and grab some.
  12. Oh, and be careful of the guppies. Unless you only have 3 males, you will end up with a whole herd of guppies within half a year
  13. Personally, I'd get a good school of a single type of fish, rather than 4 different types in little schools. A larger school of one type of fish, say 20 cardinals, will have a much greater visual impact than many smaller schools of different fish. Plus the fish will feel much more secure with more of their own kind around them. HTH
  14. It has potential, but it's still new. Not liking the look of that black algae on some of the plants and you definitely need a background.
  15. Definitely go for a slightly larger filter, you can always weaken or block the flow if the fish aren't coping. The filter getting clogged will also lessen the strength of the flow. You're using your MG PK fighter yes? If so, he can deal with the flow just as well as any other fish. HTH
  16. Yes. So you were surprised at the temperature drop in that amount of time, not the fact that the fish were acting differently?
  17. 1.5 degrees? That's nothing. I drop fish between 25-28C water all the time
  18. Only down to 24.5? :-? That's strange.
  19. Thanks for that man Bit of brown algae on the sand, got all the rest off the glass. Waiting for the grass to pick up and beat the algae. Thanks, Sunbird73's daughter bred them
