BUT this tank is good for fighters. Don't disregard a tank just because you can get a better one.

I'd stick to one fighter or 6 ember tetras. Similar to cold water, all you need extra is a heater. 55W aquaone should be fine.

Algae in hairgrass is usually due to the reduced flow when the grass gets too thick. All you need is a powerhead, filter flow or pump keeping the grass in constant motion. Yes, you can trim hairgrass too. I'm a bit of a fan boy for hairgrass TBH, it's one of the few plants that I can grow well. HTH

I am running the Aquaclear 50 on my 60x30 but an Eheim 2213 or similar canister filter would be good too. If you don't want to spend that sort of money though then a 500lph internal filter would be fine too. HTH

I'd use that for extra circulation to keep algae at bay and avoid dead spots. You'll need something in the 500l/h zone really, take into account fancy fish (fighters for example) when buying a filter. The flow can mess with their long fins and such. HTH
