I use a diffuser under the intake of my HOB filter. This minimizes the amount of CO2 lost.

I run my Aquaones anyway I please :lol: Found the 25W to be a bit under powered to be honest, I'd be more inclined to go for the 55W.

I'd definitely do a glosso carpet with an "island" of rocks slightly off centre with a nice Java Fern growing from it. Fluorite for the base if you can afford it.

That'd be a fine way to go out. Hopefully if you sell any tanks and fish, they go to someone just as passionate that can keep the amazing fighters you have bred going.

Fluorite is designed to be used as the sole substrate. It can be used on it's own without anything covering it. I would imagine the same goes for the Onyx Sand.

It has nothing to do with me selling him the tank actually. I have planted many tanks 30cm wide, I personally find them easier than wider ones, that's MY opinion. I am simply letting Ethan and anyone else reading this that 30cm wide is plenty of space to plant and aquascape.

Ethan will be buying a 2x1x1 6mm standard glass and silicone tank off me sometime this week. Hope this helps with giving him advice.
