I just asked my LFS if they had any and got heaps out of the bottow of their plant tank.
Have a look next time you are there and they might give you the bits that have fallen off their plants
How can you compare a 165L and a 180l tank for prices that would be like saying that I got my Juewl for $150 on sale (store demo model) and the others where all over $500
The tank was $699 new and the others of the same size were about $500 to $600
The filter is silent (as silent and it can be)
The filter media is pads that you rinse every 3 months (what the LFS guy told me) and you can replace them if you want. I have also chucked a bunch of bio balls in it too because there is space in their for a heater but we have ours hidden behind a plant. The media is in 2 pull out holder so is really easy to change
I found this that might help

I like my Jewl
The filter is really easy to look after and I think they advertise it as an "internal canister filter". It also takes water from the top and bottom of the tank which is nice because it stops that film on the top of the water forming.
The T5 lighting is good for the plants too. T5 is a reference to the diameter of the tubes.
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that turned up yesterday.
I think everyone there enjoyed them self and it was good to see a couple of new faces.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone and hopefully more there on the 30th Aug
There is not a lot to choose from in wellie. most of the shops around here have more dead fish in the tanks than live ones.
The only shop that I have never seen a dead fish at it the care vets in Johnsonville
Sorry to hear about that Phoenix
Ore you in a position that you could find other flatmates and evict them. I know that it is a hassel finding a good flat mate but if you can find someone then evict them or just evict their cat.
Also as much as I love cats (especially mine) they are known to run away when moved to a new house so if it is not chipped it might "run away" and find a new home with a nice new family that will look after it
I have not had one of these tanks but haveing had a good look at them at my LFS I would say look at the Jewel.
The light hood on the Blue Planet seems a bit heavy and not the best set up available.
The Jewel on the other hand is light and easy to move if you need to.
So the last batch I had I would not be able to register if I was a member because the mother died a week after the eggs were laid.
I think it is funny that you can have fry and lots of them but not be certified as a breeder because the mother did not survive?
Is it just me or is that confusing?
Get a nice big red spot to teach them a lesion. You big boy is about 3 times the size of our fighters (except our giant) and he never has a problem with being beaten up but the small BN get chased about a bit
But then you have a problem with some other animals habitat being destroyed for those plantations. If you are worried about the wildlife dont eat/drink processed things and go live under a rock because your home used to be where a bird or kiwi lived till man turned up
It will depend on the pressure in to the cylinder, the pipes you have, the shower head you have and a few other things so you would need to have a pro look at it for you
