No,it's green. It's a small tank, about 40 litres and housing one pink convict. There is no light for the tank and only gets natural light through the window, yet another tank in the same position is fine. So, adding plants will help? Ok, will add some plants

I have one small tank that has a very fine powder-like algae that grows over the glass. It's very easy to wipe off (as it's like a powder) but it covers the glass again in no time and I'm sick of it. I don't have any real plants in the tank and have another that doesn't have this fine algae problem in the same room. Algae rid doesn't work - any suggestions?

The fry are a few days old - I have no idea how to care or feed them. The parents are still guarding the young but I feel I should move the fry out to another tank - what is the ideal set up please and what should I feed them?

My angelfish have also successfully bred for the first time ever - I see little wiggly tails and Mum is moving them around - very exciting They're in a community tank with a strong filter so I feel I should move them to another tank in a few days - what is an ideal tank set up and what should I feed them?

It's an Eheim Classic 2213, it seems to do a good job and is quiet, but it's just such hard work detaching the hoses without getting water everywhere and then setting it up again - I have to kick it off by siphoning every time. I think it's the whole external filter and faffing about with it concept I don't like as I have internal filters in other tanks and they're so much easier to deal with.

I have an Eheim and hate it - it's too fiddly to detach, reattach and get going again and would like something easier to use - can anyone recommend a good filter please?

I have 2 guppies with unusual tail shapes that I was told are rare, I googled and think they're pintails. Someone is asking to buy them, how much would these retail for please?

What is this fungus? It seems to only affect the cories in my tank and no matter what I do, I can't get rid of it but it seems to come and go on it's own - it's been off and on my cories for months and months but none of them seem to be bothered by it.

But to answer the first question - they have a balanced diet, I feed all sorts and only the odd fish is affected - when they're half grown (as she is now). With a tank filled with guppies, if it was contagious or food, I'd expect more to behave like this, not just 3.

I have had a few guppies that float on their side and struggle to swim down - they eventually die. I've lost 2 and another is now showing the symptoms - any idea what it could be?

I have 2 full grown silver dollars in a 3-metre tank - I feel they would do better in a bigger tank but don't have a bigger tank for them. Should I sell them or is their current tank sufficient for them?

I have a mating pair of pink convicts I obtained when I purchased a tank on TM. They had their babies and I had to move the male out as he was starting to hassle the female so he's in a tank all by himself. The female is still with the babies but they're starting to get quite big. The male has been by himself for a while now and starting to get a bit depressed. I don't want more babies but know if I put the female back with the male they'll breed again. I'm not sure what to do, maybe I should just sell the lot?

My female BN has what looks like a large lumpy fungal growth on the top of her head - I tried googling but couldn't find a fungus that matches this description. The other fish in the tank seems fine with no symptoms at all so I guess I should remove her (somehow, she's fast!) and treat her with fungal remedy.

The tab issue seems to have sorted itself now but I can't access Trade Me at all which is odd.

Since switching to BB, I'm having problems opening tabs with Firefox - I open a few at once (pages that is), and Clear seems to think the issue is my browser rather than their BB (yet I had no issue opening a few pages at once on dial up, except it was very slow). So, thought I'd test their theory and try opening my pages on IE but can't figure out how to do this - with Firefox, I could "open all in tabs" but where is this in IE? Thanks

Lucky for me I have a whole packet of the stuff so Furan it is - I won't give up on my sick fish without a fight - it's my black clown angelfish that's got pop eye - not letting him go if I can help it! Thanks

That's what I thought, but I'm sure they're all male so maybe they're confused? lol Blue Gardneri - the same as in Barry's "Beware" thread, but 2 of them are browner because they're still colouring up - I tried to google a female Blue but couldn't find one. I only have the 3 boys in the tank, maybe they're lonely?
