Looking after friend's goldfish and one of them dies

I went with option b) - and she said that she thought it was looking poorly before she gave it to me - sitting down too much she reckoned, so guess I'm off the hook! She has also suggested I take the remaining one as it would be cruel to put him back in the bowl - so looks like I now have 2.5 goldies and 1 paradise fish, all of them "saved" too :thup: -

I saw a series of treadmill mishaps on a site somewhere which had some amazingly stupid falls - it was compared to the guys who used them in their music video - not sure of the song but it was very clever. I run on the treadmill at the gym and now the classes are reduced for the holiday break, will be doing a lot more of it and I find them freaky. Think of what it is you're removing from the tank, especially if you're doing a gravel clean too - it's like liquid fertiliser for plants. Probably on par to worm tea which plants also love. I use it to water my plants as well, both indoor and out.

Are there any other sites/forums like this in NZ? I think I found this one by chance when I googled a problem and this forum came up in the results. It's the only one I belong to but know of some of the others mentioned. However, they're not NZ so aren't so helpful to me.

Yes I know it stains everything, I've used it before. I was looking for some white stones I have to pop into the tank actually, so they'd go blue too :thup: I thought melafix was to fix rips and tears, and bacterial diseases, not fungus? I do have it though so that can be Plan C if Plan B doesn't work. :cr12:

Yes, he's still a happy fish :cr9: I'll dose the tank as I can't be naffed setting up a quarantine tank, and it won't hurt the others but will help if they need it. I think fishie would be better with his mates anyway :cr4:

I saw Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter which wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it'd be. It had some good action sequences which made it worth the watch. Was about 30 minutes too long though but otherwise not a bad film - and it had our own Marton Csokas in it too :cr9:

A list of safer (or natural) options to use instead of chemical for any reason would be good.

Ah, so that's why I see one going all the time and the other only every now and then. Why is that important? I thought heaters were meant to stay away from circulation otherwise it interferred with their thermostats?

True, but some don't register that it's hotter and tend to kick in anyway. Goldie tank is now 25 degrees.

I just whipped this up as I had some left over creme de menthe and didn't know what to do with it - google told me I should make a Mexican Grasshopper and I wasn't going to argue with google so here it is: Looks more like something suitable for Halloween but it's very yum!

Geez it's cooking here! Over 29 degrees already. For the first time in years I have to turn the fish tank heaters down. It's 24 degrees in the goldie tank, with no heater! :cr7:
