  1. Hey all, well I work for a company that contracts out to a telephone service, I'm one of those guys that digs up the side of the road to put new cables in and do a few other bits here and there.
  2. That sounds awesome, welcome to the forums

    Hello

Hi, and welcome to the forums
  4. Nope, my Ornate isn't to big yet, about 150 - 200mm long. If you know where I could find a pic on the net that would be awesome though
  5. I 2nd the idea of Elc Yellow's, I have some in with my Oscars and they hold there own and are an awesome fish. I found 6 to be a good number. Don't know if they would work well in your Tank with the Jewels but maybe a small school of Golden Leopard Cory's. I got some for one of my tanks a little while ago and they are really active and don't just sit on the bottom of the tank
  6. For about 2 weeks now I have had the Oscars hand feeding (mind you that wasn't hard  ) But last night got one of my Silver dollars to hand feed and all most got my Ornate burcher to hand feed as well, so a little more work on that one. Its the small things in life which can really make your day
  7. Oscars are great, Amy and I love our 2 and are looking forward to getting a 8 foot tank for them Its a good reason for a big tank.
  8. cool, thanks for that. I'll pm Mr Pleco later on once i've seen a bit more of whats out there
  9. try a trop marine tank, that might be a new challenge for you? I find slowly working on a few different projects at the same time helps me keep going at it when i get board of one thing
  10. I've been thinking about getting a fancy pleco for my 200 liter tank. I've only ever kept your standard pleco's and bristlenoses and was wondering whats out there and what are some that would be best to look at first, like if there are any that are easier to care for than others Any idea's and pics would be really helpful, or links to websites that could help
  11. did all the water testing the other day and nothing strange there. Guppy is back to normal self and non of the other fish are showing any problems. will keep a close eye on the tank though for the next few days to make sure all is well
  12. It is a 80 liter tank with guppy's, 4 cory's and a BN. Male Guppy looks fine but will have a closer look tonight. Tank has been set up about 4 months now
  13. my partner has a guppy in her tank that started flicking its self really quickly and that would put him sideways, then he would quickly get back to the right way up, but 5 - 10 seconds later he will do it again :-? any one seen this before?
  14. Cool, thanks for the info, shell put it to good use.
  15. Would you have an air stone / bubble line? anything that make any water movement? I wouldn't run a tank that big with out a filter but if you had to my guess would be 2 water changes a week. Your filter die or is this just a project your looking at doing?
  16. Now I have a mix of both dry food and feeder fish for my Ornate Bircher(I think thats how to spell it) Has any one got anything that has worked really well for them? Any tips on raising them? Thanks
  17. I agree with supasi. 2 days a go I did a big change of order in my 350 liter tank and most of my fish loved it a part from the pleco who didn't like his tunnel being pick up be he got over it.
  18. Do the females also grow bigger / quicker than the males?
  19. about 200 liters but I also have Golden barbs and a fighter in there so I wouldn't want the other fish being chased
  20. cool, thanks. . . all though if I do get a breading pair i'll need to give them the own tank, I have a pair of kribs in the same tank so might be a problem later if there both guarding eggs
  21. two of my Angel fish have started to hold on to each others mouths and shake each other a little. sometimes one of them shakes its body for a little bit just before or after this happens... Any one have an idea or any tips?
  22. Glad to hear that they will heal over time will be setting up a 25 liter tank for the fighter in a few days so until then he will have to put up with being in a breeding trap inside the tank. But I was surprised that he went like that cause there has been a few male guppys in the tank since I got the fighter, but after adding those 3 the other day he just went nuts, so he changed his mind about them in just a few hours I guess.
  23. My girl friend and I put a few new male guppys in her tank yesterday, but we noticed (and by this time it was a bit late) the siamese fighter just did not like one of the male guppys at all, girl friend is really upset cause it was one of her favorite ones (black body, red fins / tail). Its the only one the fighter doesn't like and he took most of its tail off... The guppy is in a breading trap in the corner of the tank now, fight back to normal apart from attacking the breading trap now every now and again. How do I save this guppys health and does the fighter think that the guppy was another male fighter? (guppys tail was a nice big red one)
