  1. Luckyfish - I'd be wary of your tank size if you wanted Discus on top of everything else...I sold off my school of cardinals to make more room for mine  Caper - I didn't know that until a friend of mine told me, her dad knows all the stories 'cos he's a top forensics scientist in NZ Depressing I know..but sometimes staying up at uni until 11pm is demoralising!
  2. ...AFTER my exams! I'm near breaking point... :-? they locked off the 8th floor balcony in Vic's Kirk building due to bio students using that to jump apparently...
  3. they're fine seen a few small runners so they're finally propagating! My Alenquer has taken the left corner in the Sag as its territory now
  4. Sweet I'll look for that brand the next time I'm in
  5. but how do you prevent the build up of gunk with Riccia?
  6. not to mention all those pesky flies don't wear black!
  7. I thought only girls did 21 shots? Although a few of my chick mates did yardies too...it's just so tacky watching girls do yardies somehow...don't know why.... :-?

    $2500

unless people get them sexed and have a true/confirmed pair imported especially and they want some of their money back
  9. some petshop staff will try to sell you anything they can but also it might have something to do with your tap water - who knows? When you're filling up your bucket let the water come out fast so there's a lot of splash and movement. Also some Discus keepers like to stand the water overnight - but I've never had time nor space and mine's pretty sweet
  10. as long as your water is aerated the chlorine should evaporate
  11. same here had to pay everything myself (except dress which mum bought from overseas) and even my partner's Ball ticket - the worst bit of the ball was that he got me a real pretty orchid corsage for my wrist and I have really bad hayfever I suffered hayfever all through the night. we had a makeup consultation party a few weeks before the Ball too which was fun Guys have it so easy....

    $2500

I was puzzled with the name too! but I don't think it's worth that much personally..he's probably factoring in the revenue it would bring the would-be-buyer
  13. yeah neither do I any my Discus are fine people overseas tend to use it more because their tap water quality is horrendous compared to ours here
  14. lucky for you - did you ask for fish things? that was one thing I requested my mates NOT to get me lol how old are you turning?
  15. cool thanks for that looking forward to see more on your progress!
  16. it's all smooth sailing until you have to stand in the rain for hours and have annoying lil school children squealing at animals that you're trying to observe..our group had to observe Chimps and I felt so dirty when a group of English tourists came along while I was watching a mating between a younger male+a young female and taking notes and taking photos
  17. at our 6th form afterball we had 14 year olds from a local school climb into the venue we hired via the toilet windows...they fully crashed it
  18. Is this background going underwater or in a terrarium? Also what type of paint are you using? We're looking at making one ourselves for our terrarium now since Rockworks are too busy
  19. hahahaha did you have 4 uni students watching you with binoculars?
  20. I went to a private school and some of the girls had dresses designed and sent over from the States..cost their parents a fortune and they would only wear it once. When we were in the younger years of school we could tell a Ball was coming because most of the older girls were orange with fake tan lol
  21. that's unfair lol they're only a year apart...I would be too if I was the younger one, as for my own 6th form ball I simply couldn't proceed to the after ball lol comered after slumping into mum's car..
  22. congrats! you're doing really well i couldn't even leave my female in with the eegs
  23. haha one group did a project on their mating sys the year before us..the things they told us was definately INTERESTING! Who knew they were such promiscuous lil beasts...lol
  24. my dog does that meerkat pose rally well for food lol...if you do biol328 you'll get unlimited zoo access for a while trimester
  25. well spoken that's why they were failing with black (or was it white?) rhino conservation - enriched feeding meant an abundance in male rhinos born which isn't much help to conservation  and male babies need a higher nutrient while in the womb - something crazy like 90% of male foetuses spontaneously abort without women even knowing they were pregnant
