  1. Thanks aquaJ! I got a small piece of wood for the BN. now i just have to figure out where to hide it, as i do not want it to be visible. Congrats on your yellow babies, they are such a nice fish to have :bounce:
  2. pygmy chain sword may be what you are looking for - but it is very uncommon, and not the easiest plant to propagate. not sure where you can get some from either. best bet would be to ask around on here.
  3. any thing in particular you like? if you have names you can ask for it in the PT&E section, few on here sell plants on trademe as well. Failing that, see what you like in the pet shops - mutibuys make buying them cheaper - so buy more and get them cheap. HTH
  4. lol. that sucks muchly. when did that happen?
  5. oh poos? im sure someone will come down sometime, since i want 3 im sure we can sort it out. :bounce:
  6. awesome stuff :bounce: i accept fish with whitespot
  7. lol. you used to be able to get them. perhaps $800+ each may put you far down the waiting line.
  8. eeexxxcelent.... lol. This is my first "true" african tank, so is an exciting venture for me too. glad you like it :bounce:
  9. oOo platies. glad i thought of that
  10. quite a mix there. arowana and budgie.
  11. a couple? you're pushing your luck now. ha ha. he shall get one piece that he can use. Ill order that hikari panaque food for the plecos and that should keep them thrilled. a small piece of wood will not change the pH, as the water should be well buffered. pg 10 on this thread now. another 64, and it will be longer than the conch's red sea max thread  :bounce: Another update - thanks for the advice with the GAE's mystic and others - man those fish ate all the algae of the rocks! :bounce: Ottos seem happy as too. Im pretty stoked too come to think of it, and my tank shall have its first visitors tomorrow! :bounce:
  12. ah i shall not be working, as i was good today and went in and worked  you should pop by and see the tank (and the bird) if you have the time.
  13. oh 2 new posts. if he/she isn't happy Ill know pretty fast. the food does have wood in it. I love wood in tanks - had 6 pieces in this tank before it changed continents  - but not in an african tank. maybe i can hide a small piece of wood somewhere, and pretend it doesn't exist D1990.
  14. I dunno... Ive heard of people keeping them in african tanks with no wood. As long as he eats his algae tablets, that I drop in at night (hikari, and tetramin) he should be alright, as I think the hikari ones have wood in them.
