  1. its the swim bladder. the temp change causes them to lose balance as the pressure in the bladder changes.
  2. Yeah. it happened to me once. I lost 10+ electric yellows among others when my heater plug came a little loose. the fish go into hiding and a few of them spiraled around. but my tank temp dropped to about 16 or so maybe even lower cause i only noticed it a day or so after the plug came loose. I "fixed" 200+ tetras at animates here once when a heater failed and the tank temp dropped to about 11 degrees All the fish were upside down at the bottom of the tank gasping. Warm water and salt fixed the prob almost instantly, but only lost about 30 glowlights which was not too bad considering what we could have lost.
  3. small fins. lack of colour. what is the anal fin like? and the females are wider than males. and the males have a more prominent yellow crown on the top fin.
  4. Won't you be spending all day doing your "paperwork"?
  5. it is both. have pics of them?
  6. nz killi association. membership info is on the main page of the FNZAS, under clubs.
  7. I can't trace what part of the river they are from, so am not going to confirm that they are indeed Rio... What I do know is that they definitely are not An. dolichopterus as the wholesaler claims. They 'seem' to be Rio Ucayali -but I won't confirm that until I get a proper positive ID - if I get a proper positive ID. On another note, i went through the cat-e-log and these seem pretty consistent with Rio Ucayali's - including the orangish colour. only time will tell i suppose. Until then ill keep getting more in hopes to breed them someday.
  8. that would be like... so not.. fab ROFL
  9. me 2 lol  what plecos do you have in malayasia?
  10. holy. almost makes me want some guppies.
  11. it sounds like us animates employees are taking over
  12. yes. good Cl- removers take out the chlorine, ammonia, mono-chloro-amines (amine is a Nitrogenous compound). they take out the ammonia too as in some cases, ammonia is a by product of the reaction.
  13. *puts hand in the air
  14. they are looking good so far I think i have caught the bug. if i work more this week and the next - ill get some more provided i can put some money aside. lots of whitespot. just the way its supposed to be
  15. chlorine causes instant fish death. they swim weird and upsidedown and then die. it is safer to use it than to not. I always have and will use a dechlorinator, cause I have seen what happens to the fish without it.
  16. opera. not safari. opera is a web browser that you can get for pc and your phone. I don't know about safari
  17. the dose rate is 10mL for 37L. you can overdose if you like, without any problems. In the long run prime works out cheaper (far cheaper).
  18. So finally I got me some of these beauties! :bounce: I am awaiting positive confirmation of ID from Planet Catfish, but based on someone-else's similar buy they should be Ancistrus sp. `Rio Ucayali` Ill get more pics up as they settle into the tank and start eating good protein foods.
  19. no no. it does not have to do with vodafone or telecom but the browser that the phones use. I use s60 devices - (nokia) and their browsers are brilliant. you can always download opera for your phone and use that as the default browser. sort of like saying the internet company is no good when it is not the internet companies fault but the browser's fault, i.e Internet explorer. HTH.
