  1. do you have any? I deliberately did not buy the last batch, now feel like ive missed out. Wendtii green? that stuff is awesome - I'd love some of it. i have to pester supasi now for some more varieties.
  2. oh man, that really sucks. Im so sorry to hear that, but just remember when one door closes another opens, so stay positive and keep yourself occupied.
  3. I need rotala macandra. Comments please... the tank has a lot of maturing to do; so the swords will spread out and grow submersed in a month or so. The filtration is at a total of 3600LPH - 2x fluval 405's and 1x eheim 2210
  4. 1 or 2 Fluval 405's or an FX5 or 1 or 2 Eheim 2010's 1 or 2 aquaone cf 1200 (if that's what its called)
  5. The plants in this tank at the moment are some small amazon swords that don't get huge so cover the ground, 5 plants of "rose sword" - am unsure but i presume this is an osiris of some sort. Moss (lets call it Xmas moss) on some of the wood, ludwigia arcuata and rotala rotundifolia at the background. I need more crypts as this is to be a leafy tank but seeing as ive given most of my old plants away - crypts may be a bit hard to get at the moment cheaply. moss on wood and my syno euptera - ive had him since he was like 2-3 cm, bought him as an upside down catfish. I also have a true upsidedown cat, and need more, as ive had him for 4 years now and he needs to be in a schoal.
  6. So Im going back to a planted tank, mainly with my catfish and more to come, and perhaps some discus in the future. The tanks transformation is as follows: to: that is calcuim, shells etc at the base, for the sword plants mainly. I haven't kept a lot of swords but this will form the major plant in this tank. The brochis seems to enjoy the shells I did not remove any of the plecos and other fish during the tank change, just removed the rocks and the fish that needed to be gone, and left the others in.slowly added my substrate that ive used in a previous planted tank - i really wanted daltons sand but given stress, and time constraints I remembered the effory i went through to make this gravel and so i used it again. its great for plants. I put some schist at the bottom, so that this time I actually can give my fish some space to swim once the plants boom - and boom they will with 210W of t5 HO light also set up a box with an extra filter for the plants and the bristlenose that refused to leave his wooden home
  7. gah! i dislike this tank, and emersed plants. pics soon
  8. well mr. skippy, if you come vist me at work one day i can teach you about plants and fert balls and other cheap tricks lol
  9. sun roof a possibility? at that size, MH's are probably the most feasible option. HO's would provide moderate light at 2feet depth - sort of defeats the purpose, but who knows, each tank is different.
  10. take a union representative with you, and best of luck for the meeting. it must be very worrying.
  11. hmm. 2.1 m planted tank. seen the tom barr project?
  12. hmm. that means it should look like this in a while (took this pic minutes ago) only every time i have ordered this plant in, it has come in mostly submersed.
  13. snip it off if its big enough. it may melt but it may not, and if it does itll come back eventually. (if you had come earlier i would have shown you all my melted crypts and how they decided to come back)
  14. I would shove a JBL ball near the roots and let the spread on their own
  15. DIY CO2 won't have much of an effect on that tank. you can try it on there, but in reality it won't really do that much. that tank has a lot of potential. im imagining it now hahahha. Let me plant the tank pretty please?
  16. the real aspen shavings can be bought from a pet shop - they are more expensive.
  17. Reef Reef Reef!!! good going, it will look awesome in a few months time. well worth the effort!
  18. i use that stuff during the summer months - the bird is fine with it, as are we and the fish and what have you. bugs don't seem to like it though
  19. were those the ones I sent you? __ Matt0- I too think the 620T does not have the foot print needed for those cichlids. the giraffes get huge and fast! I had 2 in a 3.xx foot tank with a wide foot print, and within 2 weeks my giraffe grew, beat up the other giraffe, killed him/her and then i had to trade that one with ryan. There are plenty other nice alternatives to stocking a 620T, like a planted tank.
  20. lots of my friends collect bugs for their entomology masters degrees etc. ill ask them if they have extras and spares.
