  2. http://www.fnzas.org.nz/writing_article ... al_tetras/ is an article about breeding cardinal tetras (appeared in a FNZAS Aquarium World magazine before published on http://www.fnzas.org.nz/ ). I'd imagine that many of the things said in that article applies to breeding neon tetras as well.

  7. I had under(in)gravel heating cable in my planted tank. Made them myself from wirewrap wire. You only need a low wattage to create the desired effect which is: water circulation through the substrate. Use conventional heating to heat the tank. I believe I used an old 6 volt transformer (isolated I think, I hope, not an electrician) and the required lenght of wire to have an effective 15-20 Watt heating. (or something like that anyway). Made holders for it from plastic strips (hardware store) . Ran it zig-zag through the whole tank. Substrate heater was on timer. 15 min on 15 min off or something like that See http://www.thekrib.com/Plants/Tech/dupla-cables.html and look for wire wrap on the page Cees
  8. agree with warren. When I still had a planted tank I made my own pmdd. Got most of my supplies from the otaki hydroponics shop. Some of the trace elements where probably scraped of my lab-bench at work. Had to be careful not to overdose though. After a couple of months I had it figured out and the tank (100L only) was nitrate limited with good growth. You need to do everything though CO2, light, fertiliizer etc. I also had heating cable in the substrate, very efficient. Perhaps this winter I'll get a 4 foot tank and start with the plants again :-) Cees

perhaps you could read the guidelines again or search the fishroom for the term 'family oriented' http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/viewto ... y+oriented Maybe you will than understand why I will not allow 'bagging' of anything. If you believe you should have received a warning than perhaps you should not post here anymore. I try hard to delete posts which I believe are not appropriate for this forum. I know the other moderators do the same. I should not have to do this but some of you (a few) leave me no choice. I don't always send a warning. The site has losts valuable members because of a small group of people who are unable to respect others in their posts and that's a shame really.
