A needle is commonly used to release fish which are pulled up from depths which causes the swimbladder to over inflate due to the decreasing pressure as they come up,if it doesn't sort itself out and the fish isn't looking good I would give it a go

I just use a standard syphon,stick some cloth over the end and stick a airline through the top and it seems to work as long as no other fish are in the tank.

im thinking of going marine myself :thup: with a tank that size i believe a sump is a must and a decent skimmer as well,i have been told canisters are pointless in a marine setup because the build up nitrates or something.

i use waihi beach sand and builders mix from bunnings this is the beach sand and my favorite and the builders mix

it was only 8 days because we came home early due to the weather,i would have starved them if it was only 8 days

im not going to sue anybody,my neighbor managed to kill 30 odd fish in what was actually 8 days,if he had followed the instructions they would still be alive,i brought a brand new 500g container of fish food a week or so before Christmas and in 8 days he had used close to half of it,so don't say he didn't know what he was doing ,and i have been home for four days now and he still hasn't built up the courage to come over to say sorry to a 15year old for killing his fish,rather pathetic if you ask me
