I make Milly go in the shower with me, the only way to get an albino really clean. She mooshes her eyes shut and clicks her beak, you can tell she doesn't like it. Then she sits on her perch in a warm place and sulks for a good couple of hours

I've made my own air-powered internals which are cheap as chips to make and safer as they can't leak on your floor but it'd be a bit hard to make one with enough grunt for 200L. Can post a pic if you want. I usually make them when I want a really tiny tiny filter for a small tank, the biggest one I am running is on a 45L but it does work really well. There are videos on youtube of canister and other filters being made, and lots of aquarium sites have something, google DIY canister filter would be my suggestion

Cool, i have blue & black also. Whats the difference between these & the splash? Splash has blue streaks over a whitish background. If you have a blue roo you can get splash bubbas. The genetics are BB = black Bb = blue bb= splash. So blue Bb x blue Bb produces 25% BB black 25% bb splash 50% Bb blue. Splash bb x Black BB produces all Bb Blue. A lot of breeders use a splash rooster over black hens to guarantee all blue offspring. I am writing a book on chooks btw

Got 25 golden albino axy eggs off tm and they have developed well but are hatching in fits and starts... two 4 days ago and one 3 days ago, none since but the eggs do seem to be ok, no cloudiness and some movement of the little fellas inside. Is it normal for them to hatch out over an extended period? Do I need to put a heater in with them? A wall thermometer near them says 17 degrees but I think its in a warmer spot than the tank. They are in a 30x30 tank filled up only about 5cm but could fill it up more and put a 25w heater in there or I have a plastic heat pad I normally use for germinating seeds which I could put underneath. I have daphnia in there for the ones which have hatched and bbs and microworms on the go all ready for my babies when they deign to appear.
