How many liters does 20KG of salt make? Hmmm, Let's see, how much does NSW cost me...It's about an 80 K round trip, so about $10 diesel, takes maybe 2 hours and I can get about 180 liters a trip. So that's $.18 per liter. The salt, if it makes about 700 liters it's the same price per liter of water. I think I have a couple 5 kg boxes that are good for a, iirc, about 200L each. So 20kg would be good for 800?

Not sure how high the new one would be compared to the old one, I'm guessing the old was about 600 tall? So the new would be over 2/3 heavier. May get away with it, but just to be safe I'd suggest reinforcing it. Hard to suggest how without seeing how the stand is built, but just fitting some extra 2X4s tight in next to each support and nailing them there would do. If it's one of those black customwood ones it would be more complicated, probably best just to build or have a new stand built.

Specimen of what? How big? How much water? Insulation? Ambient temp? If it's the water itself that's saturated with oxygen but with no air above it, not that long. Water doesn't hold much oxygen.

Or you could say, since I've read a moderate size earthquake has jolts in the 3-6g range that you should build it to hold at least 4500KG. Just build it as solid as you reasonably can.

My tank must be cleaner than Pies' then because I don't have a huge amount of pods and no algae except for coraline on the rocks. Nyah nyah, Pies, pbbpbpbttt! (As long as you ignore the algae on the back glass and the spraybar)
