  1. Leave it outside in the sun for a week to dry then wrap it in a cloth and call it an egyptian mummyfish. Poke it with a stick and sell it as a dead vampire fish. Shoot it in the head and sell it as zombiefish that you only barely managed to kill before it started the zombie apocalypse. Replace it with a similar living fish and sell it as a resurrected jesusfish. Dye it green, sell it as an alienfish. Dye it green and sell with a goldfish bowl full of goldfish as a leprechauncichlid. Burn it to ashes in a fireplace then sell the ashes as a phoenixpleco Before it dies put it in a blacked out box, sell it as schroedinger's catfish. Sell it as a live fish that does tricks and is really really really good at playing dead. Roll it in glue and then lots of cat/dog fur and call it a werewolf cichlid. Sell a dead yellow fish as a blondefish, drowned to death. Throw it as high as you can then sell it as New Zealand's first attempt at a fish astronaut(Failed) Send an empty box and insist it's a black ghost knife fish and you just aren't open minded enough to see it. Midas cichlid, started changing everything in its tank into gold, decided to keep it.
  2. I dunno...Peak solar insolation if I remember right at the equator at noon midsummer is about 3500 watts/square meter. So 1000 watts(Ignoring a mh isn't 100% efficient) would put you at about 2/3rd of that. So there's LOTS of room for improvement.
  3. Or a small wild marine puffer. "Tetrodowhat? Why do my lips feel tingly....*Thud*"
  4. It is unethical to leave a child or animal with someone who cannot properly take care of them, isn't it? The only right thing to do is ensure that the child or animal is removed to a healthy environment under the care of a qualified caretaker. Money is the same, hence the phrase "A fool and his money are soon parted." It would be wrong to not screw a fool out of his money and put it in your own better care.
  5. No such think as reverse cosmosis. There's no C in osmosis. Also you shouldn't use it exclusively in freshwater, it's only regularly used for topoff water for marine tanks.
  6. Give it a good coating of ignoreit? I don't think the polystyrene being exposed to the water will be an issue.
  7. sssssglubsssssglubglubsssssss
  8. That's exactly why I don't do anything more than maybe read a few messageboards while doing water changes. I once forgot I was filling the spa up, ran out an hour or two later to find water pouring out and a nice sized pond underthe deck it's on. Might not matter if we weren't on tank water.

    pacu?

Do you have a 10+ foot tank?

    tank problem

Brown algae is not caused by sunlight. It's usually actually cleared up a bit by light and replaced by green algae.
  11. It will work, but you'll lose half or so of the flow. Cannisters usually don't have the gruntiest pumps. I used a Laguna PJ5000 in my marine tank's sump. It did the job well, much more flow than the eheim pump that was popular at the time and cost less. Pumped so much water I had it running through a relatively restrictive spraybar to the tank, nearly maxing out the return plumbing AND diverting off a lot of the flow to equipment in the sump.
  12. Actually, she's the one that suggested it... BTW, I think water and electricity do mix well. If they didn't how could I have measured a 110v induced current in my marine tank? If they didn't mix all the electrons would have just fallen out of solution and droppped to the bottom of the tank.
  13. Very slightly. The best thing you can do to stabilise your PH? Stop testing for it. The reason hypochondriacs are always sick isn't because they keep getting ill. You're probably causing half your problems and stressing for no reason.
  14. The filter will do very little to combat algae, they don't really take nutrients out of the water.
  15. Sunlight will only make algae grow on the glass if you have poor water conditions. If you don't, then you're just getting free lighting.
  16. Wash the dirt off it. Put it in the tank. Weigh it down.
  17. That's not a ph crash. Even over a couple days rather than weeks the fish would probably be ok.
  18. Love the airpump, btw. I want one.
  19. And you could probably take a bit of the coral rock out because it's obviously increasing the PH faster than other factors are dropping it.
  20. Of course there is. $250K paid out on proof of death in my case.
  21. If you're listening to a 25 yo girl you're doing it wrong.
  22. Fastest speaker record is around 11 words per second, fastest morse code is around .5 so if texters lost to morse code they're obviously even slower.
