  2. Without being curl how long could one be kept in a 3 foot tank? How sensitive are they to temp?

  4. If you read the Regs you will find the low voltage is anything exceeding 50VAC or 120V ripple free DC but not exceeding 1000VAC or 1500V ripple free DC now "extra low voltage" is anything not exceeding 50VAC or 120V ripple free DC. now you can see the even when a electrical engineer say "Extra low voltage" Is can still do damage to you. And suphew is right most older houses wont think twice about passing 10,20,30,40 amps through yo to ground, it only takes in the order of 100mA (0.1 amp) across your heart to stop it. It is my strong recommendation that you (fish keepers in general) find out if your house is RCDed and if it is not, get a electrician to install one in your board or go out and buy a RCD to plug into your power socket and run your tank off it.

  17. Well a quick update first my 200L had a leak so I had empty it which meant I had to up root my tiger lotus, it had some roots a 800mm long . It is back in the tank now and seems happy so hopefully it will flower again. As for pollination etc. I have found that a cotton bud works well, just use the one bud for the 3 nights it is open wiping it around the in side of the flower being careful not to get the pollen wet in the nectar pool at the bottom of the flower. Once the the flower has finished flowering it will head back into the water where the petals will die off. What is left once the petals are gone is the seed pod, this will get bigger over a couple of weeks until it pops. The last pod I had I put a plastic bag over it and gently tied it to the flower/pod stem then blew in the end of the bag with a straw so the the bag was half water half air, this seemed to be a goo way of collecting the seeds I did have to blow the bag up a bit each day though.
  18. To get your attention your family leaves a post it on the front of your tank.

    Killies at HFF

I do believe that there were some clown killies there. Goggole "Pseudepiplatys annulatus" for a image of clown killies.
