Are you allowed to keep seahorses in New Zealand? If so where do you get them from? Has anyone here had experience of keeping them? I used to drool over the tank they had years ago at Hutt Pets and now seahorses are never seen in pet stores.

Anyway, so yes I guess she is full of eggs and now the I have taken her out of isolationhas the attention of 3 peal danios. Now what? I would love to breed something?

What size tank do they need and what would be suitable tank mates?

One of my 6 pearl danios looks pregnant. I have not had any luck so far with pregnant fish (platys so far, one has died, others have all mysteriously gotten thin again - I assume if they have born some fry, the fry must have been eaten by other fish in the community tank), or perhaps they haven't been pregnant at all. Anyway, got a rotund danio now. I have popped her in one of those little isolation net /cage things. Any suggestions?

Also if you have Microsoft Outlook for your email, depending on which version you have, you can resize photos by emailing the photos to yourself and choosing the resize option in the attachment options. That way they email you receive from yourself will have a smaller version of the photo and you can save that and use it. Make sense? Probably not.

My father has a Jack Russell who is 13 but I know he visited the breeder last weekend and said he was tempted which I assume means she has puppies at the moment. I will find out the breeder's contact details for you if you like - she might be able to help. Also there are LOADS on Trade Me at the moment.

I got a fantastic selection of plants from a Trade Me member called Pleco. They are growing beautifully.

Have you tried calling a Kennel Club? They may be able to point you in the right direction?

I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes here. I bought my first discus (a blue turq about 30mm excluding fins) from Phillip Collis about 2 months ago and to be honest I thought it would die because everyone says they are really hard to keep, have to do water changes every day, etc etc, and against the odds it has stayed very much alive and happy and is growing well. I can't afford discus guru's ones (sorry Ron! ) and I have seen some nice looking ones for sale on TM from someone called bungleb. Have any of you bought from this seller before? I am planning to buy some from him/her or Phillip in Feb when I am back from holiday. Any advice would be great!

I would love some if they don't grow large. What sort of tank mates and tank size do they need?

Hiya, my female (I assume) platy was dead this morning. She was very bloated and I had though she was pregnant and she had a molly hassling her for a while. When I scooped her out of the tank I looked closely and she had what looked like eggs coming out of her. I thought Platys were livebearers so I am confused. I have a community tank and I am dying for someone to breed but don't know where to start or what to look for. I was hoping she might have dropped some fry but it was not meant to be

Hi we (my husband, 3.5 year old son, and I) are renting a caravan in Whangarei (we will have just spent a week with friends in Taupo) and going around Northland for 8 days in mid Feb. We have only ever been north of Auckland once (we are from Welly) and that was Paihia in a cyclone and was short lived and rather wet. Anyone have any must sees, must dos, good campgrounds, private or DOC ones, any must see pet stores :lol: yeah my husband will love that hahaha he already despairs at how many visits to Hutt Pets/Animalz one can handle in a week. Also, is there anything we must have before we embark on a caravan holiday (other than a caravan). There are bound to be things we will forget. Any advice greatly appreciated!!
