LMAO. So many of the confectionery has shrunk in size without a price reduction.
But the economy doesn't seem to matter to Coke. They increase their prices annually regardless.
I almost got a snickers today too.
I got Jaffa's instead.
What is the safest way to remove the broken panel from the side of the tank?
This is what I figure so far:
- remove internal silicone with blade
- remove top brace
- remove panel
The only thing I am not 100% on is how to separate the silicone in between the panels. There is not much space to fit a blade in.
Is there a solvent which will do the trick?
All input welcomed
There is a limestone mine at Kowhitirangi. Don't know where they take the rock to.
I want some too. Will do some investigating.
There was a huge one just south of Whangarei Port when I lived there.

It should be all sweet.
Even if you put the bags in a poly box and seal it with that wide sellotape.
Oh and you MUST go see the Southern Encounter Aquariums in Cathedral Square in the city.
They do feeding of the 80,000L ocean tank at 3pm.
They have a pair of mad Kiwi in the house too.
I have flown AirNZ and carried fish on as hand luggage 9 times with no hassles.
Just don't tell anyone and make sure they are in sealed bags with no chance of leaking.
The xray customs people don't even ask.
No problems.
Right it has been a while since I have seen a thread like this around here.
How many tanks do you have full atm, and what fish do you have in them?
I have:
325L Pictus cats
300L Khuli and Angelfish pair
250L Horsefaced loaches and BGK
180L Emerse plants and 2 dozen cherry barb fry
130L QT and snails
60L QT and Apple snails
ps. plus I want to be jealous and drool over your fishes
If it is air then the bubbles are causing cavitation of the impeller. The impeller breaks up the air into tiny bubbles and vibrates slightly. If there is a lot of air then this is bad for the impeller. But they are only ~$12 to replace.
If you are really worried about the concrete. Put some in a container/tub fill it with water and test the water parameters at set intervals and see how long it takes for the water parameters to become stable. + how many water changes....
It sounds like air in the canister body.
Gently shake it left-right front-back and that should get all the air bubbles out.
More air will build up, but it should only be a small amount.
I have six CF1200's I think they are a good filter.
Check your intake valve. Sometimes you will have a loose connection, allowing air in.
Make sure the screw parts are done up tight.
I have found that the self-prime mechanism wears out and sometimes leaks too.
Your lfs will stock replacement O-rings for these parts if need be.
Yup yup.
Any fabric stores stock poly-batting by the metre. Usually 150cm wide.
Also they sell it in bags by weight and you just pull bunches off to use.
They are 97% water tight.... lol... That's why I only had 5" water in them.
I wrapped the bins in duvet inners. Lots of feather down and wool duvets.
And no spills did I have.
My cat held on all the way until we got out at Wellington.
I moved from Auckland down to Hokitika.
Drove down all the way, stopping for one night in Wellington.
All my fish and the cat.
Don't knock your cats out. It is unnecessary and does more harm than good.
Put your kittens in a cage with a thick blanket over them to make it dark.
Preferably in the car with you so you can talk to them and calm them down.
I had my fish (around 150) in five of those 60L bins with the clip on lids, from the Warehouse.
I filled 5-6 inches of tank water in each bin.
Put all your biomedia from your filter in with the fishes to keep it alive.
I didn't have any fish losses in transit.
I did one water change half way with bottled spring water.
